For those of us who use the pickling lime to dose calcium into the tank, Meiers in Rolling Meadows has the stuff on clearance in their clearance isle. one pound soft containers originally marked at $2.87, were marked down to $1.99, then to $1.44 (50% off), but when you get to the checkout and scan the ups on the back side of the container, it rings up$0.88 cents each. not bad.

Not sure if other Meiers have it too but the RM store had about 8 bags left after I got mine, as of 1pm today.

just a heads up if anyone needs some at a cheap price.

Thanks for the heads up Harry! For under a buck? How much do you get? Is that more cost efficient than buying the 5 gallon bucket from BRS? I'm still working on a 5 gallon bucket from atleast a year ago. How big are those packages? How many pounds would take to fill a 5 gallon bucket? I've never looked for one.

hey taylor, the pouches are 1 lbs each. the old bucket i have ( twopartsolution.com) , which i got partially filled years ago is listed at two gallons (10 pounds). so at $0.88 per pound, it would cost $8.88 if i have my math right. not sure how much the buckets cost but i had read here many times over the past years that some would look for mrs. wages . so i have to assume that the cost is pretty good.

the stuff lasts a long time so the six bags i bought will hold me for quite some time.

i hope this helps.
