Well since the other thread was shut down me and a few other members figured we should start a new and improved one, hopfully we can manage to keep this one on track and not get it shunned.

So PLEASE NO COMERCIAL POSTING lets keep this user based if someone needs to talk to ms go to the sponsor forum and post there.

I really dont have many pics left on my pc of the 250 but I will post what I got I'm sure others have some to add.

Also going to remesh a pump tonight, I will see if I can get a video of it.

I just wanted to make sure that this thread stays on track and oriented toward the MSX skimmer line, various mods and experiences of those running the skimmer line. There is so much to be learned and shared for the benefit of those running these skimmers and those interested in running one.

Please if you have business, vendor issues or other related questions, please post them in the Marine Solutions Vendor Forum.

Thanks is advance!

With that said, I pulled the trigger last week and ordered an MSX250 with the extended neck. I can't wait to get my hands on it and see how it performs in my system!

I was hoping someone could post a to do list for people getting this skimmer. I re-read through the other threads and picked up that when you first get a MSX you should check the mesh and ensure it is balanced well and properly cut and then replace the air intake hose.

Is there any thing else that is a must do? As with most things like this, obviously a good run in some vinegar and water is a good thing to do to shorten the break in period.

I was just curious to see if someone had a MSX with the new white trim?

I e-mailed Rob (he replied real quick), they said they don't have them in stock. Other than RF, does anyone know where I can find a 200 msx
with the white trim.

I'd prefer to buy from MS, so I may just get the regular MSX. Still trying to find a way to squeeze it into a 20 long.

Saltwater connection has them. There out of canada but I've ordered from them shipping was actually pretty fast, got it the same week.

I do like the way the white ones look to.

I would suggest you start one pump at a time and let it run for 10 min or so. If one of the pumps has been damaged its difficult to locate which one if they are both started up together.

Thanks for the info, is there a way to get free shipping from them. It's $56 shipped to NC. "He who shall not be named" 's site has them for $30 shipping. A can of sprat-paint $3, a decent skimmer at a good price.... Priceless.

I will be tagging along for this one. I have an MSX 200 and I am very happy with it. But if I can improve the perforfance I will.

I don't know how it happened. I hooked the meter to the airline this AM and the pump stopped, dead. Took it apart and nothing. Put it back together and still nothing. All of a sudden it started and when I hooked the meter to it, BAM, 45!!!

Tang Tang is the Mesh or pin wheel?

I just ordered my MSX 160. I wanted to try it over my Venturi skimmer. I also needed a small foot print.
