So far this skimmer has far exceeded my expectations 10 folds. Here's the last 24hrs skimmate. And fwiw, it didn't skim for around 6hrs as i was screwin with the tank alllllllll day! lol, anyhow here's a couple pics. Its a bit wetter than the normal for me but its pry 3 cups or so.

You are out of control.

Yes, Yes he is :D

I keep trying to tell Luke that he is crazy...i think He already knows that though :lol:

Ok, after getting the msx dialed in how i like it, here's the first two days of skimmate. The cup is 23oz as usual, and i had pry half a cup i dumped out of foam and crud. There was quite a bit of mud in the neck. The smell wasn't absolute sewage where it stunk up the whole bottom floor, but it was getting close to it.

Here's the last three days skimmate. It finally smells like sewage again. My wife is just thrilled! About 4 cups worth.

What do you mean exactly?

I'm curious about this as well. Now that you have run the skimmer as a recirc are you still pleased and have you run into any problems? The only area that seems to be of concern is drawing the water from below the bubble plate, I would speculate that water coupled with the water going out the skimmer exhaust would want to pull bubbles down from the reaction chamber.

Not sure what happened to my quote but I was reffering to your statement about lining up the bottom union correctly

Looking good Luke... I'm leaning towards the MSX over the Octo Pro now for my heavily stocked 180gal. I want to go back to an insump skimmer to free up some room under my stand, I'll be getting rid of the DAS EX3... you might remember the tank:

I might go with the 300 if it'll fit in my sump... I'm upgrading to a 310gal here pretty soon. I know you had posted some info on the 300 awhile back, did you hear if it'll have 2 pumps or 3?...

Thanks,
BigD

Big D, the tank looks great as always. The 300 is only going to have two pump's, so i'd just get the msx250 when it comes out. It'll be plenty for a 180 or 300g tank.

A Sea K, i replied to bunkerbean a while ago but should have posted it here. Yes, i'm very happy with the results the msx200 is showing, its pulling 2 cups a day of the nasty nog. Its still holding steady at 45-50scfh, but you do have to realize that air # is coming from a rma series air meter, which will restrict the air at the top so i need to get a new meter to see what the actual air pull is.

As for the recirc pulling in air bubbles coming down from the bp and body. Thats not a concern at all. There are no micro's escaping below the bubble plate and even if a few were getting sucked in to the pump it wouldn't make a difference at all.

When i said it took a while for me to get it right i should have explained it more. The way the input of the pump goes into the bp is at a bit of an angle. When i recirc'd it, i went straight in. I should have went at an angle. It just took a long time to line it up correctly, thats all. After it was lined up, no problem. HTH
