MTRC Officer Election

That is nice of you to donate that first pic to the next meeting. Just kidding that is what I was thinking too as some ways to get the membership up to what it should be for all of the people around in the hobby.
 
Here is a picture of that first piece out of the tank to give you an idea of the size, I cant believe it was a frag a few years ago.

Sorry I cant offer it up for chopping. My wife would kill me, it is her favorite coral. If you look at the picture you will notice how it is growing differently now. When my 75 sprung a leak and I had to move everything it ended up in a more flat position. I like the way it is growing now even better.
 
Yeah, more dues are paid on LFS meeting nights than any other. The LFS' have traditionally donated something to frag or something else that all members get and give larger discounts to club members on meeting nights. We started fragging a softie and an SPS at each of the LFS meetings to give everyone something they were into (or at least try). The club has only paid for a few corals ever (but I've offered to pay and been turned down several times;)). Giveaways are certainly something that should happen. We kinda got out of that until recently (we finally got rid of all of the reef club goodies at the December meeting;)). Picking up sponsors by offering banner space on the website for a few bucks a year, then hitting them up for some donations (especially around frag swap time) is a path forward I wanted to work towards, but never got around to getting it all going. You need to increase traffic on the club website to make that enticing, though. We are the only ones that go to our website, so traffic is limited to club members (and I'll have to admit, I only visit every once in a while-not as much as I should, esp. since coral_reefer_25 took the time to get it all updated for us a while back).
 
Sounds like the "any position" option was misleading.

If you haven't voted yet, send it in. With less than half voting your vote still counts.
 
I renewed via paypal. Is it to late for a ballot? I think any of the people would do a great job but I can vote now. I wish we could join for more than a year. It creeps around so fast and there you are with a invalid card like happened to someone awhile back. If the clerk doesn't know you personally I see why they wouldn't take your word you are paid up without a new card yet.
 
yea, I never get carded at AC, and to a couple people there, I dont even have to mention the reef club, they just take the 10% off anyways. I think I was so excited bout my new clowns, I forgot to renew. I even remember walkin' by the membership table and didnt even think about it. As long as we always have a frag swap in Jan. shouldnt be a problem for me to renew. But I see what you're sayin' about the cards though. Maybe just issue one MTRC card and the pres/vice pres could keep AC up to date on paid members. But then again, they are busy enough to have to look through papers to make sure someone is a paid member. I'm sure somethin' will be worked out.

That is one of the ideas that we talked about after the reef meeting I think it would be nice to have a 5 year membership for that reason it is a pain to keep renewing it. But for those that want to budget it one month at a time so be it.
