MTRC Officer Elections

thanks to all those that nominated me, but unfortunately i have to decline as well.....i honestly dont know if this year would be the best for me as i am unsure how much time i can devote to the club

with that said though, i will try to be more invoved in the club this year....i definite want to help in some way, but not necessarily sure for the officer position

i'm in the same boat john.....i know i'm gonna be involved as much as i possibly can, but as far as an "official position" i'm reluctant to commit since i'm unsure of HOW involved i can be

can someone give me a more involved description of the secretary position & maybe an idea of how much time i wouild need to invest on a week-to-week basis??
 
The secretary will be the meeting planner (topics, who is doing the meeting, when and where...). The Secretary will help out with the Frag Swap planning and execution. The Secretary has also been keeping track of things like official group buys and things of that nature.

Those duties are negotiable as the new board may want to do things a little differently. The Pres, and VP and Treas also help out with meeting stuff, so the duties are a bit distributed. In the future, the Secretary may be in charge of content for the website.

I wanted to thank Brian for nominating me for secretary. I would glady accept the position if I am voted in. To give everyone a litte bit more of a background on me. I have served on a board before. I served with the National Criminal Enforcement Association for three years. www.ncea314.com I helped with everything from writing articles for the news letter, being designated to keep up with yearly stats and the Chairman over the awards committee. I also received a lifetime member status for serving on the board for three or more years. I have decided to take some time off from that board for about six months now. I left on a good note and the Director stated I was glad to come back to the board whenever I was ready. I am familiar with having bylaws and different positions within a board to answer too. The member status of this organization are in the 1000's and the last conference we had was attended by 400 police officers. I am very interested in the position and would appreciate each and every vote I received.
 
Excellent choice IMHO in Commonstranger for secretary or any position in the club. You could not find anyone that gets along with everybody he meets better than Rhett, and honest as the day's long. Surely would be an asset to the organization and is dedicated to the hobby. Just my 2cents.

If I am elected I would want to discuss handling the group buys. I have never been involved in this and would like to see another position handle this if possible. All the other items mentioned I would be fine with. Wayne bad news I dont drink coffee. Laugh
 
There aren't many MTRC sanctioned group buys, Rhett, so its not a big deal. ;) The salt is the only one I can think of.

Brandon I am on strike to you till you buy the 10 gallon sump. (Laugh) I think I can handle it just dont like screwing things up such as that dealing with other peoples money.

Wish I could step up and help in the officers slots but since I can't spell that kills the secretary spot, can't add... that kills the treasurer spot..., can't ever get back to folks and follow through with anything so pres. would be a disaster!!.... and I hardley ever make meetings anymore so I nominate myself to just post the little WELCOME to REEF CENTRAL cute moving icon thingy to new folks! :) How do you get it to say MTRC??

Seriously I wish I could help more in the club workings but I know my limitations and the folks who know me best know I have horriable follow through on good intentions and am half crazy most days just being a mom. I think the club BOD has done an awsome job the last few years and I think Brian and Moriah among others have done a fanominal job with the swap! I want to thank all who have helped bring the club this far and all who give up there personal time to serve the club!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!

I wish I could do more in the club, but just like some of you I work a lot and have a ton of work load once home. So maybe when I don't have to work so much anymore I would be more involved...... :-)
 
One more thing I want to add! I'm glad Wayne got nominated otherwise I would nominate him myself! When I first joined the group, only 2 people that make me feel welcome to this group. And they both given me stuffs to start out with and taught me a lot. One is Wayne and the other one is Angela!!!! I really don't care about anyone not liking them for anything someone think they've said wrong or anything that sort, but I know how they treated me from the beginning, they've done nothing but to welcome me into this group! I thought I should add that in, Wayne have my vote! :)
 
Ok, I'm going to be honest... its coming down to me vs. Chuck and thats it... which makes it a little bit awkward... :D

So are we going to have 2 or 3 debates? What platform are you standing on and the big question is "DID YOU PAY YOUR TAXES?"
It would be a hard vote as both of you are very deserving.
