Sorry about that, Gary... Ron reckons it's a female, but he said he can't be sure without examining it better.

unfortunately for Dr. Ron I won't be sending him this particular anemone!

Mine

Mine

Gary Im started to wonder what sex mine is then. If yours is female and mine is male we might have a perfect pair since they have the same color scheme.

Mine is in my care for 7 months and growing the guy who i bought it from had it for 1.5 years before i bought it.

SMGLFS?

SMGLFS?

quite honestly... I'm not wondering what sex my gigantea is and I don't want it to spawn in my aquarium (very messy IME).
It's very happy living the single life in my aquarium.

I'm extremely happy to see that this one is still doing well! This is my absolute favorite captive Gigantea specimen.

well that is great looking specimen , i have never heard of any multi colors. hey with any luck it may just get prettier and prettier.

does your emperor angel ever nip at your clam or corals? I'm planning a fish list for my 240g and would like to keep either an emperor or majestic angelfish in a sps/clam tank

my Emperor nips at whatever it wants to nip at. (This includes corals, clams, other fish etc.) However, it has not killed (or pestered to death) anything in my aquarium.

when did it move off the rock?,has it stayed put attached to the tank bottom (presumably)?

the anemone is hiding it's rock perch in that pic

Gary , How long you have the Emperor?
I got mine when it was a baby and when it die after nine years it was 9/10" long it had some HLLE around the blue mask above the eyes here is a picture you can see some of the erosion on the blue lines .
Yours look bigger than mine and don't look like it has any HLLE at all.

hi, Steve!

hi, Steve!

I've had my imp for around two years. It was just starting to change when I got it. Since this is an anemone thread I can tie it all together with my reply: I'm very conscientious about feeding both the gigantea and imperator properly. Heavy feedings can result in a rapid deterioration of water quality so I'm also careful about monitoring conditions for my SPS.
