Just came across a picture of a centropyge cross between a multifasciatus and a venustus, 2 of my favorite centropyge. The pattern and the colors on this cross are amazing. You can find more details about the fish on one your reef blog sites for sure.

I actually dont love either of those centropyge angels, however they did make one great looking baby

My favorite hybrid for sure. The last one was a very hardy fish and aggressive I hear. I find it weird since both the parents are on the far opposite side of the spectrum.

Yes, I read the samething, a very pugnacious little fish and was chasing all other tank mates around the tank...very odd as the multi and venustus are so mellow, shy, and some are almost secretive...I rarely see one of my ven at all while the other is always out and about but is very shy...

was it sold or is it still available? I just checked a minute ago and it's still listed as available on the web site of the fish store (namamugi-fish).
I think there are a few reasons that the fish is listed as $8k which is much less than a peppermint. Number one is that the fish was caught in Philippine and I imagine the diver got paid little for the fish. second although the parents are deep water fish. They are not that deep comparing to a peppermint therefore the risk is much less. Third the freight from Philippine to Japan is probably much cheaper than from HI to Japan.
