Here are some pics from tonight. They are both nice and plump now. VERY active, so they are difficult to photograph, never mind trying to get a pic of the pair together. Notice how small the yellow/orange area has become...

I wouldn't worry about stringy poo unless its white. My Dwarfs have the occasional stringy poo trailing behind them...followed of course by my Hippo Tang who is trying to eat it

Yes, my tomini is both a poop producing and poop consuming machine :lol: He definitely prefers the anthias poop though

Well, I admit to my bias, being a C. argi keeper, but those are cute as buttons! BTW, never has my argi bothered any coral, not even a Wellsophyllia Open Brain. Angel bait if there ever was.

Mine have been model citizens, eating nothing it seems but algae. Very happy with my decision to purchase them.

Yes, as far as my corals go, mine is also a model citizen. Towards other fish, well, my female false perc is suspect#1 toward the the death of her mate. The Cherub is number 2. However, I never saw any aggression from the angel & it gets along fine with my YT damsel.

Well, good news and bad news.

Good news: The angles are doing great. Growing, active, healthy, zero fighting between themselves or other fish.

Bad news: The female seems to have developed a taste for acro corals. Now, I'm hoping this is a temporary development. I did a big water change this weekend, and then forgot to turn on my CL pump, so the corals slimed up pretty good over night. I'm thinking the angel is just enjoying the extra slime. I never noticed any problems with my corals, and only yesterday did I notice the angel pick here and there....quite a lot of picking though. Also, I couldn't tell exactly what it was picking at....polyp, tissue, slime?

Can anyone offer their experiences specifically with argi angels and coral eating?

Not to steal the thread, but..... how do you like the tomini? Do you have any pics? I have been thinking about getting one but cant find much info on them.

I had 2 dwarf angels in my 110 and they never had any problems. My Flame is a model citizen but my Half Black finally had to go when he started not only nipping at my corals but began eatting my GSP.

I love my tomini. I have yet to see a picture that does one justice. Brown with bluish mixed in, covered in fine orange spots and stripes. Took a while to begin feeding well...frankly almost starved to death...At one point, it's skull was the thickest part of him.

He is fine now...growing, eating. Not aggressive to my other fish. My new PBT shows no interest in him either, and vice versa.

He's very active, but hugs the rocks more than other tangs, IME, so is well suited for a smaller tank, IMHO. Very difficult to photograph. Here are my two best so far...

I took the plunge last maonday and bought myself a Cherub.I fell in love with the fish the miniute I saw it.I want to put another in the tank but I hear thats a no,no unless it's done at the same time.He's the king of the tank,the only fish in my 65 for now

Cosmo, a few days probably isn't a problem especially if you're introducing a larger fish - say an inch longer. It may be bullied into a corner initially, but it should gradually begin to explore and be tolerated by the other fish in about a day

Ugh! Nightmare! That little angle is a terror! Non stop picking at the acros. And even a taste for a gorgonian! Seriously, ripping polyps off. My brand new desalwii acro looks VERY unhappy. This sucks.

OK, let's here the fish trap suggestions please. Spare me the net suggestions, as it would be like trying to catch a hummingbird in a greenhouse

This is what I have done multiple times to get fish out of my tanks. I take a gallon ziplock bag and puncture a hole just under the sealing part of the bag on each side. I then take a couple of pieces of fishing line that are at least a foot longer than the height of your tank and tie them to each of the holes you just punctured. Once you have them tied up make sure the mouth of the bag is wide open by jently pulling on each end of the bag as far open as possible without tearing the bag. Place some food in the bag with a small piece of rock and submerge the whole thing into the tank. (I use the piece of rock to make sure that the bag stays submerged.) Make sure that the pieces of fishing line hang outside the tank so that once the fish you want goes into the bag you can pull it out. You may have to wait a while to get the fish you want, as other fish will probably go into the bag before the one you want. I have found that I usually don't have to wait to terribly long before the fish I want goes into the bag. I think the longest I have ever waited was 15 to 20 minutes. There are times when I have caught the fish in a matter of seconds. Also, to maximize the probability of catching the fish you want quicker I would sink the bag in the area of the tank the fish spend a greater time in.

Thanks Alonzo. I actaully just borrowed a trap from a local reefer which is a more precise, fancier version of exactly what you described

I am sorry to hear that it didn't work out with the pair of cherubs. I myself have been wanting to keep a pair of angel fish for some time but fear the destruction they could cause in my reef. I was rooting for you, though.

Yeah, it's a real bummer. They are very beautiful, and active. It's a shame. But never again.
