Recently I rediscovered my lost long nosed hawkfish. One disappeared last August and it's replacement disappeared a few weeks later. Both were found in my weir box alive and well a couple of weeks back!
Whilst reworking my weirbox plumbing last week, I took the opportunity to net them out and managed to snap a quick phone photo late one evening (excuse the cyano)...
They seem to have survived eight months together in confinement quite well, both are very bold feeders, always first up for food. Their interaction with each other is great and a pleasure to watch.
It's difficult to see any differences between the two from a sexing point of view, does anybody have any ideas?
Chris
