Multiple Male Wrasses?!?

so with this being said should I look to add a 3rd scotts? i have a pair but they both look to be male as least one is for sure

IMO, if they 'both look to be male' I'd say, leave it at 2... 1 will probably end up more dominate and become 'terminal male', no need for a third. Where are the Scott's from? They can get aggressive.

I personally wouldn't, Scotts are on the aggressive side. Adding a third will likely lead to the new one being attacked by both of the existing wrasses.

A real 'wrasse addict' would never say that...he'd grab the hooded now, and then the Lineatus when it's available!:eek2:
 
that is true! what am i thinking! looks like ill snag them and see if anyone in my area wants to jump in on the order

I was told they are Australian but I think they look more Fijian

not the best pictures but they dont sit still


 
Well, I have 2 female Hooded Wrasses coming my way along with a Blue Dot Jawfish. They should arrive Tuesday Morning

No definitive answer (as it depends on the individual pair you get, how old/mature they are, and other variables with the tank & tankmates they are in with), but it could take as little as a few weeks to a few months before one starts to make the transition. The transition itself should then take another 2-4 months start to finish.
 
Well, I'm sure the wait will be worth it along with saving money since they were on sale and the price of a male isn't on the cheap side
 
Just found the Cebu Pylei Wrasse a new home! My male Flame and female Rhomboid are in hiding because of it I think.

You removed the dominant wrasse from the tank. The remaining wrasses are now working out the new heirarchy. The female flame will not be at the top of the heirarchy so she is keeping a low profile until everything gets worked out.
 
I understand this. But before I removed it I saw that my male Flame and female Rhomboid were in hiding. Then, I remove the wrasse and the female Flame went into hiding. All levels are near perfect except my cal is a little low.
