multiple mantis'

If you want a Thunder Tank effect, sure. Mantis shrimp are pretty territorial and don't take too kindly to each other unless it's a male and female, and even then the female might get tired of the male and give him afew shots!

You can try to set up dividers. I saw a 33g long that could be 11/11/11 and a good size tank for a few species. My 2 are still doing well and haven't tried to get to the other side, even after seeing eachother.

That seems like the way to go. One big tank would definately be easier to take care of compared to 3 small ones (not to mention cheaper).

dude, 1 tank divided, or 3 lil ones is the way to go.

i work for a moving company, and this lady i booked yesterday has a 29 and a 55 gal she dont need....

hell if your in boulder come meet Bane!!

so i have them and i want to figure out the species they are. i;m not sure if they are clubbers or slicers (going towards clubbers). they are only about an inch or so but they are lime green. any ideas?

Probably the ones Liiveaquaria sells; very common and they are spearers. Send me one so i can get a close look. LOL

Liveaquaria sells a variety of gonodactylids such as smithii, viridis, chiragra, etc. and I doubt they even sell spearers. I would bet that you have smashers, and if not it is probably P. ciliata.

Based on? I know what i have and where i got it from. It was listed as Lime green Mantis a few months back? But i am interested as to why you could not get a spearer from live aquaria?

unlikelly I said. You could get it, and P. ciliata (that small spearer you got I'm guessing) are a gonodactylid technically :P But if you got a spearer it is probably P. ciliata (Most common spearr in a aquarum trade) I was actually talking to FC. I like liveaquaria, but I can honestly say that I am hesitant ordering mantis shrimp from them now. I have gotten one from them which had both rapts missing. It was a P. ciliata. Another person got squilla rugosa from them missing both rapts and an eye, so at the vary least there handling of spearers from my exp. and what I hear is not very good. May i aksif yours arrived well?

Yes, they were 18 a pice and both spear type. I am shocked that yours came from Live Aquaria with appendages missing and sorts. I guess it costs too much to house them seperately. Thats a lot of little houses. so what did you do?
