I'd like to get a pistol shrimp for my highfin goby pair, but I also have a cranky yellow watchman whose burrow the highfin female covets. This love affair produces some scraps and bites, nothing serious. All this drama goes on in a 52g with no fish bigger than the mandarin.
So here's the question. If I got a tiger pistol shrimp, would this become a cause celebre with the watchman? Would 2 shrimp pair or fight? Would they make separate burrows? Would 3 shrimp be better? And would they eat the pods the mandarin needs? Any good crystal balls out there, or has anyone tried this?
Complicating matters, I have two bumblebee shrimp [eating urchin and starfish suckers] and a peppermint [eating the odd aiptasia.] Would anybody become lunch?
