Multiple Tangs in Quarantine???

Will problems arise quarantining two tangs in a 20 gallon tank for a few weeks? Both are in the 3" in length. The two in question are a Kole and Purple. Wary of the purple in a small environment.

I am planning the same thing. Maybe diff tangs but 2 in a 20 long for QT.
Was thinking I could always separate them with a divider if need be.

They may do fine for a short period, however the purple will not not tolerate the Kole tang in a small environment for several weeks. I have an Achille's in a 40 gallon breeder and had a large Angel with it. Needless to say I had to remove the angel due to aggression. Achille's aggression=Purple Tang aggression in a small tank. Pick up another small tank, most are pretty cheap. A 20 gallon long (Aquaeon/All-Glass) at Petco runs about $25-$30.

i had 2 hippo, 1 achilles, 1 spotted cheek and other fish in a 55qt... put the nice ones first. after about 1.5 months they started getting on each other's nerves... thank goodness the dt was cycled =)

Thanks for the info. I figured the best way was to use two different tanks but was hoping since they were different in genus and shape that the purple might play nice. Just didn't want the hassle of having to buy more equipment. One day my wife is finally going to snap over this hobby and will stuff me in one of these tanks, lol.

Sounds like justification for you to make a pre-emptive strike.
