Multiple Vortechs

I will be setting up a 20 gallon high reef soon and I will be going with the vortech powerheads. I am not sure if I should get two MP10Ws or just one. I will have LPS and SPS in the tank. Having two Vortechs won't necessarily increase my flow because I would run them on anti sync mode, but I thought two would help randomize the flow more. Are two vortechs worth it in a tank of this size?

in this size tank one is MORE then sufficient, but two turned way down would be optimal for the ecosmart modes/ wave making. etc

I have two on my 28 but its definitely over kill and i only run them at half power. I just needed the second one to get behind my rock work. I used to use a small Koralia nano to do this but i didnt like the cord getting in the way of my screen cover so I sprung for the second mp10. You should be more than fine with one. I guarantee you will be able to create quite the sand storm with just the one.

One MP10 gets the job done for what you want.

Two MP10s allow you to run both very low which is going to make them quieter. Maybe you do not care about that. My tank is near my desk where I work and the noise played a part in my decision.

Two MP10s open up a ton more flow options for you. You also put less wear on pumps with two because you are going to be balancing the needed flow in your system between the two.

You can always get one and see what you think first.

Yep pretty much sums it up ^^^^^^^^^

Thanks for all of the replies. I will be going with one MP10, but now I need to figure out where to mount it. Ideally, I want to put it right in the middle on my back glass. However, I have a coast to coast overflow that goes about 5 inches down. I don't want to create a sand storm by mounting it too low. If I really have to, I will put it on the side glass but I am trying to avoid doing that.

No articulation is def one of the drawbacks with vortech. How talls the tank? If you don't have a DSB you're prob good just under the C2C
