Hey Tad,
What time can we get in if we are setting up a tank to display frags? Also, how far of a walk is it from the car to the swap room?

Just trying to get a plan together.

Hey all, pardon my ignorance but I'd like to make it out to this swap and I've never gone to one before.

How does this frag swapper thing work? Are we supposed to "reserve" the frags we want on fragswapper? Or is that more just so we know what will be for sale there so we are prepared?

Also, Is it acceptable to attend even if you aren't looking to trade; only buy?

All are welcome mdsoares! I think a lot of people will probably end up having extra stuff than whats on Fragswapper for sale and I think many people only come to buy. I hope you can make it!

Hey Tad,

Just trying to get a plan together.

First, I should have carts available and there is a bus loop entrance that should be relatively close by so that you can pull up and unload stuff relatively easily.

I have had a couple questions about what time you can set stuff up so that it is fully expanded. At this time I cannot say 100%, but I will try to have everything setup and ready by 2 or 3pm so if you wanted to setup stuff early you can. Come Monday I will try and doubled check things with everyone and make sure early arrivals will be no problem.

Cheers,
Tad

Hi Everyone,

I will not be able to attend the meeting on the 7th.
However, a fellow URS member, a very good friend of mine
will be attending the meeting and can bring frags to people from me.

With that, here are the corals that I am able to frag.

Orange Montipora Cap $15
Purple Montipora Cap $15
Red Polyped Greenish Montipora Cap $25
(it has some LE name)
Green Cyphastrea $15
Green Echinophyllia $15
Green with Orange/Yellow Centers Favia $25
Green w/Purple Rim and White Polyps Chalace $15
Green w/Neon Green Centers Favia $15
Neon Green w/Teal Centers Favites $25
Green Turbinaria $15

Please PM me if interested in any corals.
I will set up all the 3rd party arrangements with no problems...

Thanks,

Steve

please let us know asap. its really the deciding factor on bringing frags for me after the last fragswap. I've been telling people I was no longer going since this was originally not an option.

I have just talked things over with everyone, and we WILL have everything ready to setup tanks at 2pm so that everything can have some time to acclimate, get happy and open up.

Please note that the actual frag swap will not begin until 5:30 as previously noted and because the museum is open until 5:00 pm, anyone wishing to enter any of the galleries will need to pay general admission. Those just wanting to stop and setup their tanks ahead of time and then leave will not be made to pay admission.

Also, I will have name tags available so everyone can get to know each other a little bit. Hope to see you all on Sunday!

My personal cell # is 607-351-4564 please call if you have any questions or concerns now or later.

Cheers,
Tad

OK, at the risk of sounding like a shill for the museum I'm going to tell you all about our newest exhibit that is just really freakin cool.

If any of you are into video games you have got to stop at our newest traveling exhibit, Videotopia. It is a video arcade with 100 playable standup arcade games ranging from the earliest Space War and Pong, up through newer releases like Tekken with focus being on all of the best classic games in between like Pac Man, Asteroids, Frogger, Donkey Kong, etc etc. You get a few free tokens when you arrive and more can be either purchased or won along the way. I'm a huge video game nerd and I feel like this is one of the happiest places on earth, lol. Totally worth the price of admission alone IMO, but hey, I get in for free :-)

The exhibit runs until the end of October and adult gamers passes are available for $20 that allows for single adults to come and play the games as often as you'd like for free until the end of the exhibit. I would be all over it if I didn't work here.

Game on,
Tad

Tad, are the games free for members, or an additional fee like the butterflies?

With two young kids, the familly membership is a no-brainer for us.

Pretty sure each person gets 4 free tokens upon arrival, most games are 1 token, a couple are two tokens. There are stations where you can earn free tokens by playing educational games, and you can buy additional tokens for $.25 each with discounts if you buy more eg. 4/$1 24/$5, 52/$10 etc (don't quote me on discount prices, I just know you get more for your money the more you buy at once).

Josepha, glad you can make it. I will look forward to meeting you and everyone else.

I will have name tag stickers available so everyone can post their real and RC names.

Cheers,
Tad

Hi all, just a quick update. I know I had advertised that there would be a demonstration by Tom from The Reef Shoppe, but he has had to pull out due to family event conflicts. He let me know awile ago but I've been slow to update on here. Instead, The Reef Shoppe has donated four gift certificates that will be raffled off as door prizes, and everyone in attendance will recieve a coupon good towards a future purchase from The Reef Shoppe.

Hope everyone is looking forward to Sunday! See you soon!

-Tad
