mushroom help please

i have a coralife aqualuner light system with 2 96w 10,000 K daylight bumbs and 2 96w actinic bulbs. i was told since i do no have strong lighting, put my mushrooms as close to the light as they can go. well some of my mushrooms are opening all the way up and it seems like there transparent. does this mean to put the deeper in the tank? they also seem to be loosing color.

Disclaimer: I'm fairly new to the SW game, but here goes my depreciated newbie's $0.02:

I've purchased two different rocks with mushrooms, one red, the other a nice blue/green. Both are completely different in their light requirements. The red ones thrived in the upper third portion of the tank when I was running a Coralife PC fixture in my 70G tank -- the blue ones seemed to prefer the lower portion of the tank. I've also had mushrooms break off the LR and end up in shaded areas of the tank and do very well.

LFS employee (yeah, I know...) told me they do well almost anywhere they're placed, but if they don't look healthy, then move them.

And, consider looking at other parameters besides light. One shroom rock I had wasn't doing well until I moved it upstream of a leather in the tank.
