mushroom placement

i got a mushroom frag and i put it in my tank today and its not opening up that much where should i put in my tank high? low? alot of flow medium flow ,little flow.thanks for the help in advance

I just got a small piece of live rock with a mushroom on it from a friend and I was told to place it on the bottom of my tank. I've seen them in most LFS on the bottom or lower half of tanks.

I would place it in the lower half of the tank with low flow.

You want to start it out low; (sorry in my response to this question in the other forum I said high lighting) and acclimate it to the lights. Especially if you have MH.

I also got a small mushroom frag (actually a gimmie from the LFS) and it stayed shriveled up for almost 2 days; since then it opens up full when the lights are on, and closes up somewhat when the actinics go on. I do have it on the bottom level of the tank.

I should note I'm a newbie to this, but that was the consensus advice I could gather.

Yeah just put it low without a ton of flow or light. Give it a couple days to really open up. From there decided you you really want it in the tank, keep in mind they dont like high flow and bright lights that much. Give it a few days to adjust to its spot on your sand bed and then move it up.
