Mushroom question

I have a bunch of mushrooms that are getting big. They are starting to cover each other.

What way can I detach them from the rock, while do the least amount of damage?

I was thinking cutting the base with string. good idea, bad idea?

use a razor blad and cut them at the base. if you leave any tissue from the base on the rock, that will grow a new shroom as well.

its pretty hard to mess this up. its next to impossible to kill a shroom. ive been trying to get rid of 3 i have in my tank and they just wont die. i covered them up with epoxy yesterday so hopefully that'll get rid of them.
