mushroom split?

how do i get my red mushroom to split? ive had one polyp for several months now nad while it has grown massive it refuses to split!

Oh but it will... Mine grew huge, beyond huge, stupid big. Now every time I look over I have a mushroom hitchin a ride on the current. Mushrooms are slowing heading towards world domination. Patience buddy. Takes time...

You could always cut them. Split it in two and you will have to. You could problem cut it into four fairly easy since it is big.

given enough light theyll split. Hell without light theyll survive. I had a couple under moon lights for about a month before I broke down my tank and they were big and happy. On a side note I would rather have a few realllllly large shrooms instead of a ton of tiny ones splitting all over

It will split. Or you can do like biocube said and cut through the mouth. you might be able to get 4 out of it.

In my last tank i had 100s of shrooms so one day i thought i would try and use a blender to dice one up and see how strong they were, well lests just say i ended up with about 10 shrooms out of that one and they grew and still split. Dang things dont die lol

I have some that split and others that get up and move leaving a new one behind. Some times you can point a power head at them making them move.

I have a rock on it with about 20+ red mushrooms on it that I'm trying to sell if anyone needs some. I'm asking $25. Rock of 5-6 inches and covered.
