Mushroom Vs Toadstool

I have a several coarls that are flourishing and 3 that are not. All of the corals that are flourishing are towards the top of the aquarium and the 3 that are not are near the bottom. My first corals where 2 mushrooms added 17 months ago on a small piece of live rock I placed one on the top of the rock structure and the second 3/4 of the way down on the opposite side of the tank. The one on the top has grown to about 4" in diameter and spawned about 10 other mushrooms. The second is exactly the same size as when introduced and is all alone.

I also placed a leather toadstool in the aquarium 16 months ago and one 9 months ago. The first one was growing and extending polyps like a champ until I introduced the second toadstool and 3 new fish.

I thought the toadstools and small shroom were dying but they have looked like the pictures for 7 months now. If they were dying wouldn't't they be dead already?

You need to upload the photos to a web site like imgur.com or something similar, or add them as attachments. You are posting links to a file on your computer, so they won't show up for others.

What type of lighting are you using? What size tank?

Seems like you have stated that the ones higher up are doing good and the ones that are low aren't.. so can we assume that the problem just might be lack of sufficient light?
