Anyone know why my mushrooms would throw their insides onto their outside? I've been wondering what these things were on my mushrooms for a couple months at least. I just learned it sounds like the mesenteric filaments. Everything else seems to be fine.

I had 1 mushroom start to do that like 2 weeks ago, well today its 2 mushrooms now, It spilt :)

but if yours have been doing this for months, I doubt they are splitting ?

No splitting, here is a picture.

could be a mateing/reproduction of sorts 1.
there is a possibility the corals did not like the moment and spit there insides out 2.
also I read it was there Menstural sacs/reprod. organs emptying out 3.

I always thought that these are some of the reasons that Ive put togeather....

any way a thought for u .... :)

peace

It is a sign that they are irritated. Sometimes if a "hot spot" of chemicals or salt that is not mixed, ( or saltcreep chunk that falls in and on top of the mushroom) hits them, or if the water chemestry changes too rapidly, they will expell the guts and hang out like that for a while.

They usualy recover.

Check to see if something is irritating them.
