Mangroves are kool.
Hey guys, thought just came to my head. Would it be possible to have a nice shall of Powder Blue's? I know you can't mix between species (brown, gold, etc) but its the same of the species. I've seen pics of huge shalls in the ocean and want to give a trio a shot. Possible? Worth it? Thanks in advance!

No chance. Don't even waste time thinking about it.
Read the sticky at the top of the forum.
Ps Shoal.

Thanks on the tip and spelling :D, i read through it and really didnt find much (probably because my lazy self skimmed through it  ). But there was one that had a pair and i found that interesting, i'll probably hit him up.

I tried once.. There were 3 of them, same size and added on the same time. They were fine; swimming, eating together. After couple moths, one of them, killed the other two...

Thanks for sharing your experience, mind me asking what tank size they were in?

As for Massman's "No chance. Don't even waste time thinking about it."

Yes a guy has 2 together. I have kept 2 together for only a few days but didn't try them at the same time, I had one in for over almost a year and then added the smaller one. I should have done multiples at the same time or the bigger one second. I think you could have 3 together in a 240 and a few other fish without issue if done when fresh from the ocean.

You have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.
You see ONE guy with two photos saying he has kept them together for a while, and all of a sudden, this is the likely result.

I have handled THOUSANDS of these fish for over a decade, and kept them in a myriad of tanks including over 2000G. There is less than a 0.1% chance that multiples can be kept in the same tank.
To make a comment like "you could have 3 together in a 240 and a few other fish without issue if done fresh from the ocean", just highlights your ignorance. That quote is in contention for the biggest pile of BS ever on RC.

What exactly is "fresh from the ocean"??

Also, here is a thread I found on the same topic, though it is locked for some reason.

It is locked because it is pointless arguing with people like you, who give misleading advice based on no experience.

Merry Christmas. I guarantee by 1 Jan 2010 you will only have one Powder Blue left. (Unless it was "fresh out of the ocean"):rolleye1:

Thanks again massman for clarifying, it was just an idea for me and i never would have tried it as my tank is small enough and PBT's are not easy to come around anymore plus the price is extremely high. Thanks, Wiz ;)

Wiz, have you seen Newschool's (Pat's) tank locally? He has 5 yellow tangs in his 180 and they are awesome to watch. They all get along and have for years. I know that they are not Powder Blue's but they are spectacular.

Yep, i used to have a trio of yellows myself (one was from you too :p) so i know how they do but powders was/is just just on another level. Thanks though Jeff!
