My 120 Gal. Stand and Canopy

I would love to have a piece of that cap with purple trim. I'm pretty much going to be out of town until Sunday evening. Maybe we can coordinate something next week.

In its final resting place

In its final resting place

I thought I would continue this thread since I got my stand moved into the family room. I still have to clean the tank up a bit before it is ready to go onto the stand. I am still not good at taking true color pictures but I think it matches the room fairly well.

I ordered 3 bulkheads from savko.com and they came in today. I also purchased a 100 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank for $59 from Tractor Supply yesterday. This will be my sump in an unfinished room on the other side of the wall from the tank. If anyone knows a nice, clean way to run plumbing through the wall, I will listen. I don't want to simply cut holes in the drywall if I don't have to.

I would also like to know if anyone has every used one of these tension gas springs:

The flip front is quite heavy on this hood and I need something pretty stout to assist with lifting and holding it up. Anyplace in the St. Louis area I might be able to purchase these?

I'm getting closer and will need plenty of help getting this project completed.

Just PM me and let me know. Being your basically in the center of Perryville and Charleston it may be better for you to order and pick up at your location.

Can't wait to see the new Sunny Hill. He said that it's gonna be the nicest store in Missouri.
[/Q
where is the new sunny hill going to be and when is going to open i travel down to the bootheal often and visit sunny hill

I have been following the the DIY thread for awhile and it looks fantastic. Great job of documenting your steps. I always forget to take the time to take pictures when I do stuff :)

BJC....It will still be in the same location. They have been closed for awhile due to remodeling. I believe it will open in summer of 06. The owner stated that it will just be an Aquatics store but in the same building he was in previously. That was a big store so to go to all aquatic he is going to have some major square footage to fill. He also said they are going to change the name also but something close to what it is now. HTH

I thought the same thing about the square footage = lots of gallons. Hopefully he will do more with stony corals and carry a broader lighting section.

when is Sunny Hill scheduled to re-open?

BJC-451, what part of the Bootheel do you frequent? Just curious because I grew up in Caruthersville.

Setup and plumbing questions soon on the way.

thats awesome! whats up with the left side painted or tinted? I love sitting in the chair next to mine and looking across the tank after a day of mind numbing work. :D

I bought the tank used and it was an in-wall tank. The back and both ends were painted but I scraped one end clean. I decided to leave the other end painted to make maintenance a little easier (this way I don't have to scrape coralline off so much glass). I don't like the looks of this end so I am looking for suggestions on covering this end (I posted another thread asking for suggestions). I thought about getting a stained glass panel to hang. I may just end up scraping this end clean as well.

One thing I need to point out is the overflow box is very close to this end of the tank. So close that it will be impossible to clean between it and the glass. But the overflow only goes down about half way so the top left of this end would always be dirty.

Here is another thread I started to get ideas on how to cover this end.

Maybe this picture will give you a better idea of my point of view.

From this seat, I will have a perfect view of my 55" HDTV and the new tank. I wanted at least one end view so I thought the end near the room entry should be clear since that is the first thing you see when walking into the room.
