my 125 FOWLR Aggressive stocking list so far:

Golden Dwarf moray
Hippo tang
Aussie tusk
Imperator angel
Clown trigger
Dog Face puffer
and maybe a SFE or another trigger too...

opinions?

I think minus the clown trigger (will be too large/potentially aggressive) you'd be okay. Keep in mind it's a lot of big fish and the tank won't be so large when they all put some size on.

I don't know why a clown trigger wouldn't be alright in a 125. Just you have a lot of large fish on the stock. I'd maybe cut some out.

I will second Jerry and say the Clown Trig wouldn't be good long term in a community tank that small, he would likely be very aggressive as he ages. IMO a 125 is borderline to house an Emperor Angel long term as well.

Forget the hippo, way too timid in that set-up.He'll just be harassed and frightened, ALL the time

how about a purple tang?

personally i would drop the hippo tang and clown trigger...a purple would be a good choice, and ours gets along great with our emp. angle, but our tank is a bit bigger. i would stop the stocklist after that puffer, in a swap for the clown trigger you could maybe consider a niger or pink-tail trigger...both great looking fish with good personality, both of mine have bee n model citizens, but again, all fish are different. I guess one big deciding factor for adding a tang with the angel and all the other fish would be is this a long tank or tall tank...makes a huge difference! good luck!

the lentgh of the tank wil certainly help with territory protection...i can only speak from experience on the niger and pink-tails...i had a clown briefly but quickly found it a new home as was a butt!

its a 6ft long tank...
what about a blue line or sargassum trigger?

Blueline and Sargassum are polar opposites as triggers go...Blueline gets huge (2 feet in the ocean) and extremely aggressive, Sargassum is thought of as the least aggressive Trigger and stay fairly managable size....I love my Sargassum, only drawback is they are considered more challenging to get to adapt. I was told (and have followed this advice) to get them into the tank early on for less competition particularly if you are going to have aggressive fish. I highly recommend this fish to anyone, don't see them too often though.

Were you maybe thinking of Bluethroat (very similar to Sargassum) instead of Blueline??

Great fish, manageable adult size and great tempermant. I was between that or the Niger when I got my Sargassum....My only issue with the BH, is it is very difficult to purchase a small one (under 7 inch or so), or at least I couldn't find one. I went with the 2 inch Niger instead.

REVISED LIST...

REVISED LIST...

Golden Dwarf moray
Purple or Chevron tang
Aussie tusk
Imperator angel
Sargassum trigger
Dog Face puffer
Hawaiian Black trigger

whatcha think?

That is a nice list. I have had all of those fish and they are nice.

I have kept nearly all of the Xanthictus triggers. They can be shy at first, but once they get established, they are bold. The cool part is that they are also completely reef safe so you don't have to worry abou them eating other fish or iverts (the hawaiian black and dogface will though).

When you get a hawaiian black, treat it for internal parasites in QT before you add it to the main tank. Sometimes they do really well for a while and then after a few months, just get skinny and die. They are slow growers which is good because they get over a foot.

I like that list. Maybe switch the DAS BX 2 to DAS EX 2 if your space allows it, and you're good.

thanks! no space for the EX-2 :(
