My 125 Re-Build

Bill, No restriction is on the intake side. Since it is 2" all the way to just before the pump, the elbow's should not offer any restriction to the 1 1/2" intake. I've seen much tighter plumbing on other builds so I think I am good. I just checked this morning and everything is working well and no leaks.

Brandon, I will be building a quick frame to hold my two strips off the ground. Either that or I thought I would build a little raft to float them in the sump. ;)

I would go with the latter. :D

Stole some more time today and crossed of a mini project I have been wanting to do. Rigged up one of the pulley bike lift systems to hang my lights from.

I wanted clean access to the top of the tank. Also, one of the stock legs had broken a bit and I was supporting one corner of the light with a scrap of PVC... needed to get done.

Seems to work well. I may replace the wire that the bike lift attaches to, but what I have in place is completely functional and secure. I may switch just to pretty it up.

Brandon, I have glass tops in place. They support the lunar lights you see. ;)

sandalscout, It is a racor pro kit from Ace hardware. I am guessing they are all made by one manufacturer as it looks like all the others I have seen.

It has been a while since I posted pictures of something other than my equipment. With my recent acquisition from Bill, I thought it was time.

First is the five frags I got form Bill. These are temporarily mounted for now. I'll probably space them out a bit for growth, but they are in the general area I like them. (Of course if anyone has recommendations, chime on in :) )

In no particular order:
- Pink Smoothie Digi
- Alabama Blue tort/Blue tip Acro combo
- Green Digi Multi Branch
- German Blue Digi
- Green W/Purple tip Bonsai w/Electric Green Polyps
- Small White Unidentified (Leftmost)

Also with one of my two remaining Bartlett's Anthias. Sadly, the Dominant male of the trio jumped out during a feeding last week. Got him back in within 10 seconds, but the fall injured him too much... but my crabs say he was tasty.

Looks good Michael, I see some polyp extension In the photos so they seem to be content In your tank! B4 you know It you'll be selling Frags to newbies....

More new corals from a trade from suzmathis1 for my old stand. Thanks Mike!

I think most need a more precise identification, but here is what they are believed to be.
- Cabbage Leather Coral
- Green Brain
- Candy Cane or Trumpet Coral? The heads are not very extended but I do not know if that is just them adjusting?
- Frogspawn? Really unsure about this one.

Here are some snaps of them in order as above and finally a larger shot with multiples.

The candy cane looks to be, Caulastrea Furcata If It Is brown and green In the center with kinda white stripes through the brown edges. The rest you seem to have already made the correct ID. Hope they do well for you, Good Luck.

the software called doubletake is really good for merging pictures..here is a picture I did using doubletake with about 4-5 pictures collectively

Nashvegas, Seems like that is for Mac only. I am still a PC guy. Tried a few others on the net, but none so far can actually do a decent job without a degree in mathematical theories.

[Edit] ... Just found that Widows Live Photo Gallery can do this. Did a quick test and it seems pretty decent. Will try it with some better shots tonight.

CJ, those are some great shots! The lighting is awesome..

Couple of quick updates to the tank:

Did a BRS order with Andy last week to pickup a few essentials and finally order a controller as well. With my job situation, the RKE was not an option still, but the RKL 1 at $99 was too good to ignore any longer. With the reduced price and an eventual credit when I can go for the RKE, not buying it would be like throwing away money. ( That is how I pitch it to my wife at least ;) )

So I got the RKL hooked up now. Actually got it installed a few days before the order came in thanks to 'Andy Air'. (When it absolutely, positively needs to be the the day before yesterday) Just doing the basics for now. Heaters now controlled on it with my sump return and power heads both hooked to the standby for feedings.

Here is a picture showing the temporary placement of the RKL and PC4. Also shows the updated hanging mechanism were I replaced the twisted cable with some nicer hooks. Hard to tell from the picture, but I also finally took off my glass tops and went with egg crate.

Also included in the order was some GFO which is now in my dual reactor ( a prior 'Andy Air' special as well!) and some epoxy so I could finally mount my recent frags from Bill. Here is a shot of my SPS rock.

Finally, my latest fish addition is a Foxface. My three year old has named him Dooby. Was going to be Shaft, but is still so timid the name did not stick.

Well, this should be my last post in this thread. Tank is almost broken down and my new Solana 34 should be here soon. I hope.

The new Solana 34 finally arrived today. This will be the actual last post. :) Click my little red house for my new Solana 34 build!
