My 130gal Cubed reef. (picture intense)

Not updated for a while, after much umming and ahhing I have decided that I would like a mixed reef, with zoas, rics, lobos, scolys, Symphillias, acans and euphyllias taking up the bottom third, the top third being sps corals. I really wanted an anemone to fill the middle third.......Soo in my local LFS today there was a really nice, healthy GBTA and I couldn't resist it, here it is in my tank now .

As a precaution I have also removed all of my sps frags and passed them on to a local reefer to look after until the GBTA is settled, It seems happy where it is at the minute but could always go walk about in the night.

update:

Had a major rescape, what do you think?
Still not added the SPS frags back to the display tank yet, waiting to get my calcium reactor online, added a couple of LPS corals and got a big order coming in next week with some nice pieces.

Still pretty empty but I hope you like it so far.

I think this is about the perfect size for a reef. Great looking tank.

Thanks :) , it is a nice size, looks much bigger in person than the pictures seem to show. Still though I would love a bigger sized cube tank a 5"x5" would be pretty neat for aquascaping and stocking.
I would only ever go braceless and cubed from now on for any future upgrades I love the look.

Paul.

Looks amazing, i love those dimensions. I would try to raise your pH level a bit before putting the calcium reactor online, are you having a controller for it?

Looks amazing, subscribed. I'm gonna built a 31x31x22 cube. Do you have a close up of your anthias?

Thanks, no close up of my anthias but I will get some for you, my dominant female is beginning the change, she has had the elongated fins for a while but is now also starting to show a little red coloration in her/his face, I am going to take some pics to try and document the color change.

Thanks for the kind words, I will raise my PH slightly I will be running an Aquadigital PH controller for the time being, I have asked Santa for a GHL profilux setup So I have control over most things, also thinking about eventually switching over to the balling lite method rather than a CaRX.

it's getting better every time i came to visit your thread; btw great pictures...

Thank you, I nearly didn't post this update as I had been getting no replies since May, I will post more regular updates from now on.
The pictures are all down to the camera I dont have a clue I just put it on the auto setting a click away, I know I am not getting the best out of my DSLR but I am reading some books so hopefully they will get better in time.

This is about 10 days worth of skimmate, Skimmer is really performing like a champ, I am skimming a little on the wet side as advised when using Zeovit, this beast is really helping to keep my water params tip top.

Also as you can probably notice in the pictures the Tunze's are spoiling what would otherwise be a pretty clean display tank, I am seriously thinking of swapping them out for 2 MP40w's, what do you think? I want to hear peoples experiences with the Vortechs I like them because they are not very intrusive inside the tank and they give out a really broad gentle flow, the noise issue and lots of people having faults with them is putting me off pulling the trigger on them at the minute.

Thanks, Paul.

Your tank is an inspiration to me... well done

Wow thanks, it is a real compliment to know that my humble tank is an inspiration to at least one person.

As promised a couple of pictures of my male Anthia.

Still mid change, got a lot of color changing left to do.

Thanks guys, I got a good price for my previous tank so the funds for that paid for the display tank and sump, I made the stand myself and already had most of the timber.
This system was about 8 months in planning so I bought equipment bits at a time over the months so it wasn't too bad, Im using less electricicty on this tank so I am making savings there, this helped me to justify using the more premium brand equipment.

I calculated a couple months back that I had spent around £4000 on this system, that includes livestock.

Just changed my mind on my cube, it was gonna be a 30x30x20 cube, now Im gonna make it 36x36x20.

I really like the way your 36" cube looks with a 24" lighting fixture

I might use a single ATI powermodule 10x24 T5 fixture
