My 130gal Cubed reef. (picture intense)

Updates! please - love the infinity - sexy

Sorry for lack of updates been really busy lately, I will try and get something up over the weekend.

I agree with you on the light, I am really glad I spent the extra on this unit, it looks and performs great. :bounce3:

Hey Precko,
Just went through the whole setup and only one word to say "WOW" :rolleye1:
Any update on the balling setup? I'm reading a lot on this and really wanted an opinion from someone as how effective and easy is it? You have chosen GHL dosing pump, exactly what I am also looking. So I'm very interested in a detailed feedback on that.
I'm tagging along with you.

Any long term feedback on your lighting choice? I'm gathering pieces fro a 30x30x24 and I'm perplexed on my lighting choices for a 30" tank.

Thanks,
Kevin

I agree Giesemann are great, but I'm concerned with the passive cooling for the T-5's. My understanding is they are not actively cooled so I'm wondering about bulb and PAR longevity.

Very nice setup, nice quality equipment and fish selection. I have just set up about the same tank 36"x36"x25", and am running just one Vortech MP40W. It is plenty of flow right now but when the corals start filling in I may need to add a second. My main question is how do you like your Eheim 1262? I need to replace my old mag 7 (to loud). Thanks!

Thanks guys, again sorry for the lack of updates our internet connection is down so my only access is via my cell-phone.

The eheim is great im using 3 different sized eheim pumps on my system (skimmer, zeo reactor and return pump), they are very good pumps real work horses but pretty much silent with it too and as any eheim user will tell you they are ultra reliable.

Ricky, great job.
I can´t believe how I forgot about this tank...
Oh, that´s, right, lack of updates. :smokin:

Paul, I hope everything is ok with you and your tank. Any chance we get an update? :)

Regards

First of all thanks for the comments

I have been working away from home for over a year so couldn't get around to updating this thread.

Everything was running smoothly, SPS frags were turning into nice colonies, everything was good. The reef God's were being kind, I bet you all know whats coming next.....

DISASTER struck! There was a powercut and nobody was home to notice, I am not sure how long it was out for but I lost 5 fish All of my SPS colonies that I had grown from frags, my large Elegance coral, 7 out of 8 heads on my branching frogspawn and a few other bits and pieces, needless to say I was gutted and seriously thought about leaving the hobby!

The powercut happened in August and I have now just got the tank back to the desired levels and running stable again after a combination of 50% waterchanges, litres of activated carbon, plenty of tubs of Rowaphos and skimming really wet! Lesson learned and steps have been put into action to stop this happening again.

I am about to start re-stocking the tank (I am home for good now so should be able to provide regular updates.)

Current stock (ones that survived the powercut).

Yellow Tang
Powderblue Tang
2 x Ocellaris Clowns
Royal Gramma
Single blue/green chromis

Octobubble coral
Single head of Frogspawn coral
5 x Florida Ricordea
small Zoanthid colony
Green Bubbletip Anemone

Anyway, some tank shots from today, although there is not much to look at, at the minute.
