So I'll be busy for next few days which will prevent me from working on my setup. That didn't stop me from spending money. I decided to go with 2 Maxspect gyre 250's for flow instead of the Vortech/Tunzes/Jebao's. I hope it'll be enough. Also picked up an Apex DOS + DDR. Going to try 2 part instead of a calcium reactor initially. I didn't have a great experience with the Korallin on my last built. I also picked up an Apex 1link. Going to build a board/box for the Apex system soon!

So here's my sump. I went with grey baffles and black silicone. I suck at silicone!

1st chamber on the left is the intake from the DT. 2nd for the protein skimmer. 3rd chamber is chaeto. 4th for live rock rubble (and hopefully plenty of little critters. The last is for the return pump.

Wow, a 75 gallon sump. Nice job. On a side note have you considered using TampaBay saltwater kit to start your tank?

All I need to do now is drill the glass tops and the sump is finished!

Water tested! Also ran the vertex m1 for the first time and this pump is nearly dead silent! So happy with this purchase.

Vinny K, I read in another post a while ago that you liked the MarinePure blocks. I'm thinking of getting an 8x4x4 block. Do you still feel this is an advantageous product? Is it too early to put it in a new system?

I do like it.
There is some concern about a possibility it has tin, but until someone convinces me it is NG I will use it. Never too early to convert into a bio load advantage.
