My 180g Upgrade

Just upgraded from a 125 to a 180 and love it, you wouldnt think 6" is alot, but it is. So here we go, 1st the old 125

Now the 180 build, used rocket's stand design, 33" high, plumed herbie style, w a 40breeder for the sump.

Some more of the sump, running itech 200 w tunze 9430.040a, single filter sock, and rowa. return consists of 2 tunze 1073.040. Main tank flow is taken care of w 2 mp40's which work quite well w the barebottom setup.

Lighting consists of 2 80w t5's, and 80 led in hybrid system i built.

One of my favorite features is the swing arm on the light, i can rotate it completely out of the way for cleanings etc, I just carried it over from the 125

Next mission is to get rid of the texas trash green paly's taking over the 2 islands. Started injecting them 1 by 1 w kalk. Wish me luck

I had a 1" tubular steel bent, built an aluminum frame for leds and t5s, and attached to back of stand.

basically made an aluminum frame for the leds/t5's, then had steel arm bent w 1 90 over the middle of the tank and another 90 over the length of the tank, the attached frame to bar.

just have to balance weight to prevent sagging. outside of the light frame was closed in w black abs plastic, w clear splash guard on bottom. Hope that gives you an idea. will try to take pictures of back side for you later.

Just added small frag tank, 14x14x10h, w led light. Had to sell all my leathers as i treated my tank w fluke tabs to rid myself of blue clove polyps and some gsp as well.

What type you use led ?? this is cree?? 1W or 3W ??
You don't have any problems with the leds high heating?

My new pump upgrade, got a new waveline dc 5000 from aquarium spec labor day sale, so far, quite impressed w quality, hooked it up using 1" pvc w 45's to keep back pressure down, and ran over the top. So far the pump is dead quiet,it has replaced 2 tunze 1073.040's and is much stronger, only have it on level 4 out of 6 and its flow is equal to my old tunze's. Hoping the quality is going to be like the tunze's, but we will have to wait and see, flow is 1350gph@ 40watts at 0 ft, will break out the killawatt meter when i remember its location.
