My 1st 180 RR Project, Cust Built stand/canopy Tunzes etc..

LOL I had many trips to the local and not so local HD and Lowes to find the perfect wood with just the right grain!!! Its solid wood that the doors are made out of. Find a fancy trim to hide the edges, if you have a table saw you can rip them with perfect edges.

Uhh oh I think my tank is going through a change or something!!! Just last night we noticed that there is some green algea growing and today its all over and it almost looks like the beggining of seaweed!!! Its hairy and has branch like things on it, is this normal or should I start doing something???

Thanks in advance :D

Whats up Mike, playing catch up on your thread, for that hairy algae you can purchase a lawnmower blenny and he'll eat all that stuff right up. I had the same problem...just my 1cent. By the way everything is looking beautiful.

Thanks man, I was thinking of one of them, I had one in a 125 i usta have back in the day when I used tap water!!! LOL There really cool, the wifey and I like them how they chomp at things... I still havent made any progress on that 58, its still the same as in the pic on the other thread!!!

Yea...I love the blenny also. Really, the 58 is sill the same? whats wrong-are you stuck, need some help?(not by me of course) Cant wait for the next step...Gotta see where you go from there.

Na no help needed!!! Just havent had the time and really just lost the mood for it right now, theres a job Im at now and most of my tools are there, it a pain in the neck to bring them home and than load them back into the truck everyday!! One of these days Ill get back to it and Ill let ya know :) Once Im done with it im going to sell it, ive been spending way too much on this 180 and want the bank acct to get back up there!!! Hows your tank comming along?? Do you have any pics of it at all, id like to see it, the 210 im talking about, thanks man, Mike

Still in the process, getting alot of ideas right now, but all I have so far is the fuge and skimmer, thats as far as I am, but not really planing on setting it up till I move. Cant wait...

Congrats on the tank. Everything looks great. I just read the entire thread, and am as motivated as ever to get my 150g going.

I was wondering where you got your LR from. I had decided on getting the TBS package, and am questioning that decision again after reading LandDragon's comments. I also liked the look of that Tonga rock he linked. So where did your rock come from? Thanks.

mike the algea isn't a problem really since it does grow in the ocean. nearly every new tank goes through phases of algea and red slime but if you keep up on maintenance it will for the most part go away. some tank take up to a year or more to reach a maturity that will be more stable. some take only 3-4 months so you have something to look for. if you want to try and control it you could try 40-50 turbo or astrea snails. maybe some hermit crabs that will eventually kill each other. lawnmower blennies are great if you keep a long term dirty tank or just have some rock with a layer of phosphates because algea will continue to grow there. other wise alot of them will never accept prepared foods.
sloth I don't know what landragon said about tbs rock but if he said it's not recommended I have to second it.

Hello slothguy, Thanks for the compliments. Welp I got the rock from a local guy breaking down his tank. If you were in the FL area escpecially in the Tampa Bay area I would tell you to go to Fish and Other Itchy Stuff, hes in Oldsmar as has some GREAT rock, nice big and little pieces. I cant really comment on other online places as I dont know really who has the good rock, I know alot of people order there rock from Walt Smith, Im pretty sure thats the name. Maybe someone will see your post and try and help you better, Thanks again

Hey Rob thanks for weighning in on the TBS place, Welp I hope im not the one that has to wait a year for it to mature!!! But Im about due again for a water change so maybe that will help. Im supprised that you suggested a sort of cleanup crew, after seeing your tank so nice and clean with out one. Except for a few snails!!:D Ill go and get some of them so they can start mowing the grass!!! Other than the green algea the tank is doing great, Zoes are growing bigger and so are the shrooms.

I don't really recommend one but they will help now if you just want something. cool to see everything is doing well.
mike your tank shouldn't be the year or more since you sert it up the way you did and have a good skimmer.

Thanks Mike and Rob! Yea, LandDragon said to stay away from it. Also, the reseller LandDragon suggested sells Walt Smith rock. Searching I will go! Thanks again for the replies, and I'll go searching.

Also, did you get all the stuff for the electric panel at HD? That looks like a good project for me for today. I had wanted to do something like that, but I wasn't sure how to do it until I saw yours. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and that is one reason your thread is so great... lots of pics.
Again, great setup and thanks for the help.

Sweet thats candy to my ears!!! :D I cant wait till you and your girl can swing by and see the tank since I got the rocks and skimmer. Whats ya guys up to today?? Were doing nothing but watching the race!!!

Thanks again slothguy, yes the electricial is all from HD, they IMO carry better stuff than the Lowes stores. And the switch panel is just a DJ panel. Its all very simple and works great!!

not sure mike she was ****y last night and this morning so who knows what I did now. she is at church until noon. if she keeps up the attitude I am going to johns.
