I think for a frag tank a 40L would be the best way to go. It has the same with legth and width of a 55gallon but the 40L is just 16inches tall...easier to dig in and get your hands wet. I know thats your specialty.

Nah, Im thinkin of getting rid of the 75gal sump (almost like yours) a 45gallon wet/dry some freshwater substrate for african cichlids and some smaller stuff like frags etc..
