My 1st attempt

Thanks Toxic.

There are only 2 other fish that will be added: a Flame Angel and a Tang. That will be sometime, next year.

Next up for me are coral. That won't be for a while yet. Tank is going to mature with these inhabitants, for now.

I don't want to loose any of them. It's funny...I've grown really fond of the Chromis. They were the first in and have made it. They have a great personality. Not to mention the 2 Blues. Those guys are very entertaining.

That's enough for me.

Update:

Everything is going great (knock on wood) and everyone, in the reef so far, is happy. The Clowns (Selena, with more Orange around the eye & Gomez, more black in the eye and fins) don't leave each others side. Pretty cool to have them get together and stay, so far.

I will be heading over a friends house, this weekend, to get some Frogspawn, for the Clowns.

This past weekend, I picked up another T5 lighting fixture. Now I have 1 10,000k daylight, 1 Purple Plus and 2 Actinic Blues. Everybody is still doing great.

I also picked up some Frogspawn, 3 frags of Zoanthids and 2 frags of Montipora:

Re arranged some LR & playing with the settings on the camera, trying to get a more accurate picture:

Good job. My first tank was a 75g. Its been up and running now for 4 yrs. Looking at yours brings back memories the first year. After the initial "new tank syndrome" everything has been downhill. My only regret is i don't stock it with more coral the first year. What i did stock it with has grown and looks very nice. My only advice to you is if you can afford it, go ahead and get your frags now.

I have a yellow tang, flame angle, yellow wrasse, 3 green/blue chromis, a pair of percular clowns and a B&W clownfish (yes i know, but they have their own host and are on different ends on the tank). Everyone has been getting just fine for the last three years. My goal was to make my tank as colorful as possible.

Anyway, yours looks good. Keep up the good work.

Kwikdraw, I disagree with you advice about frag addition. A general rule for reefing is to add livestock slowly and let it establish. If you start with a few frags it will put less stress on the tank than adding all of the frags immediately. It is also important that the owner of the tank gets acclimated and experienced with easier species before they move to say Acropora. BTW erock your tank looks great, keep up the good work!

Nepenthess99, you are probably correct. I should have been more specific. Since my tank is mostly soft corals (zoas and mushrooms), I was referring to them. They put little if any stress on the tank, especially when they are small frags.

Here is an up to date pic.

I am still battling a bit of Cyano, on my LR but it hasn't spread to my sand. Did some scrubbing, syphoning and water changes. I'm not in panic mode yet...comes with a new tank. I am in the works of getting a BRS 2 stage GFO & Carbon Reactor. Hopefully, this will help out.

On a side note, I purchased some fiberglass screening, framing, ends and spline to make my own covers, for the top. I'll post some pics, when I get started with it.

Btw,

I have been doing some research on some corals, I would like to add, Sun Coral being one of them. I know they need to be spot fed but I really don't want to add anymore livestock or coral, until the Cyano stops. I have left plenty of room, from the LR, to the front of my tank, planning to add future coral.

I like Pulsing Xenia but I have read it likes to spread and quickly. With how close my rock work is, not sure if it's a good idea.

I REALLY do like Sun Coral, by far my favorite....someday:

Here are my test results today. Salifert test kits - Refractometer:

Ammonia 0
Nitrate:< 0.2
Nitrite: <0.2
Alk: kh 8.9 / 3.19
Calcium: 490
PH: 8.4
Salinity: 1.024
Temp: 79.5

I don't have a Phosphate tester. I want to get the digital one.

Anyone see anything out of the ordinary? I know my PH is a tad high.

RO/DI water: refilling jugs today: TDS 001 in - 000 out

I shelved the flake food and my go to now is the Spirulina Pellets & Frozen Brine. I also have the Omega One Super Veggie Seaweed, I use on the clip once a month.

Another update, I have added another Zoa, a Hydnophora and Trumpet Coral. I will get a good pic of the Hydnophora:

Sorry for reposting the same pics but, I think I'm getting a better handle on the camera adjustments. A lot less blue this time:
