My 2" ORA ultra maxima keeps moving!

My 2" ORA ultra maxima keeps moving around my sandbed - not by itself , but because large snails and my rabbitfish keep disturbing it to get the algae growing on the shell. How do I stabilize it so that the snails or fish won't move it around? Even if I dremel a perfect hollow for it, the rabbitfish can still move the clam out of the hollow with its big mouth. I have two croceas doing fine in the tank because they've bonded to some larger pieces of live rock.

If it doesn't work out, I'm in Sunnyvale, and I'd love to give it a happy home. =)

You could try setting it down on your substrate on top of a shell or something else it can attach to. Then cut the bottom out of a clear plastic cup and set it around the clam and shell so that your fish can't really get to it. HTH - Tony

well try to get the alge off his shell, use a tooth brush or some thing like that they should lose intrest then

You can wipe kalk paste on the shell to kill the algae. Be careful not to get any onto the flesh of the clam.

Put it on a rock and put a strawberry basket over it until it can attach.

That's a great idea. I also remembered I have some cercona cellpore balls in a bucket that will be easy to dremel in order to make a little hollow for the clam.
