My 220 build

So I just bought my 1s house and picked up my tank a week ago, have to build a stand and reinforce my floors. I have never owned a tank this large, thus I need some help with my equipment.. Not sure about a sump size, heaters, return pumps etc.. It's going to be a softie tank, I have a skimmer already, wanna say it's a ASM-4? Bought it a few years ago but never set it up.. I also have led lighting so I will probably just hang it from the ceiling.. I'm working on cleaning up the tank now, it was really bad, hoping to get the stand built this week or of 2x6's.. I'll post some pics once I get started.. Thanks in advance for any help

Congrats, where are you stationed?

When talking about equipment it is sometimes best to oversize it just a bit, that way it is not running at 100% all the time.

Can we get some other info about the tank, overflow, returns. That will help decide on what type pump, to a degree. Do not want to get a 6000gph if you have too small of lines.

Built my stand for my 220g out of 2x6s with no center support. Sump is a 60g with a 300w heater. I use a mag 12 for my return with 6.5ft of head pressure. 3-6 times turn over volume

I was out of Cleveland, worm.. 3-25.. I will let you know about return sizes tonight when I get home, any pics dmorty? My center braces on the tank seem to be pretty flexible, should they be stiff, or have play while empty? I found a Rkl, for 60.. Is that a good buy?

I will post a picture for you when I get home. Reefkeeper lights are not very flexible as far as adding more modules or pc4's go so i would look into the regular one. Actually I would skip Digital Aquatics all together since their customer service really sucks... Apex is what I would go with if I were to do it all again. The braces should be snug before water is in the tank, the rock, water, and sand won't be enough weight to make the 2x6's "sag" to make the supports tight

There are 2, 2" hoses for the returns, I'll get pic's.. as far as the 'sagging' I was talking about the braces in the tank being 'flimsy' not the stand braces

Look in the DIY section under stand templet and calculator, that's where I got the basics for my stand from. I will get a pic up for you soon, had to work late last night so my apologies

My returns are 2"

Forgive the kid toys and mess under my stand, a a overflow happen two days ago and was unplugging everything and well haven't got around to cleaning it up... But you get the gyst

So I'm still gathering equipment for this tank, ran into some money problems while renovating my home.. What size return pump do you guys recommend? I want to go internal..

Also for power heads, will 2 RW-8 be to much for a softie tank? If so what are some suggestions should I go with the rw-4s? I picked up a 4 stage Rodi a few weeks ago and want to start filling this beast sometime before the end of may!!
