My 240g inwall Reef

I started in this hobby a little over a year ago with a 125g tank and developed a passion for carpet anemones. Needless to say I was quickly running out of room in my 125g so here is my 240g inwall upgrade. I started my upgrade in December of last year and just recently finished it a couple of weeks ago so I will start off with a video of the finished product and then will post pics of how i got there. First off a list of my equipment:

Custom 240g acrylic tank 72"x32"x24"
Custom 130g sump 64"x24"x20"
Reeflo Barracuda return pump
Trigger systems Titan cone skimmer
3 Ecotech Radion Pros LED lights
TLF 550 reactors
2 300w heaters
Full Apex system with WXM and ALD modules

So here is where my 125g was setup in Dec of 2012:



and here it is fully stocked almost a year later:



Then i had to move everything to this temp holding tank 75g. I couldn't fit all of it and i did loose some pieces along the way..

So down came that wall and the build was under way for the new in wall tank!

Now time to finish with drywall..etc..

Walls finally finished and tank is in place!

Wow! Tasso, I am totally impressed with you new build. You sure came a long way but in a very short time. Everything looks great and equipment are top class. Congratulations on your great build and success!

My tank recently suffered a minor setback and lost two large colonies of sps to RTN. Still have the same fish and still fighting cyano. Other than that, things are doing okay.

Thanks Simon! i'm sorry to hear about the losses, i've had a few myself and its always disappointing. Thats too bad about the cyano as well, have you thought about using something like Chemiclean?

I did finally gave in and used Chemiclean last week. I don't know if it is just coincident or not. Within minutes after I added Chemiclean, one large sps colony started losing tissue and then spreaded to two others within the next 2 days. I am hesitate to use it again.

No not really, i also have a window in the fish room which i open from time to time. Thank you for the compliments.

I'm going to be going with a calcium reactor, does anyone have any suggestions for a good one? I'm dosing 2 part now and its just sucking it dry way to quickly...

You'll see the same discussion on a few current threads. Personally, I prefer the ones with two reactors, one flowing into the other for safety's sake.
