My 24g Aquapod at 8 Months

Hey RJ, that is a fantastic Nano! I just won a 24G aquapod in a LFS raffle! I think it will be in stock late next week. I was thinking of doing either seahorse/pipefish or something like what you have. I think I am going to go with the softie/LPS rather than a seahorse pair. The more I think about it the more I feel that I am not up for the added work of seahorses...

I sure hope I can put something together that eventually looks as good as yours!!!

Thanks rdmpe! You will love the nano, mine is really low maintenance to the extreme. I feed the fish a little formula 2 flake in the morning every day and feed the meaty stuff every 3 days when I feed the Eel some krill. I do a 4g water change every weekend and rinse the sponge filters in the water that comes out of the tank during the water change, the water change goes really quick. I add 1 cup of water in the middle of the week for water evaporation and that is it since it is a closed system with very little evaporation.

If I didn't have such a high bioload, I could probably get away with doing a water change every other week.

Nice setup!! I am interested in your setup in the back of the tank...What have you done to it? Using a skimmer?? Fuge??

AHHHH ZEBRA DAMMY

when i first started reefing i had a zebra dammy and that little bastard was the most teritorial onry little basterd i have ever seen

Yep, the 3 stripe can be very teritorial, but overall he is a great fish and not to aggresive.

My setup is just 100% stock the way it came, except for the added MJ900 in the back middle that you see. I don't use a skimmer or a fuge, just the stock setup with the sponge filters, I took out the like ceramic circles and never used them.

Not much, it looks like I am going to have to frag some of my leathers. The one in the center that the clowns have hosted in is splitting and falling over it has grown so much and the finger leather too. Other than that all is well

how big will the snowflake eel get, and about how fast do they grow? Do they have a high metabolism, or are they somewhat placid?

I have had mine for over 3 years now, since he was about 7-8 inches. They grow slow I am thinking, but he is about 18-19" right now and he will get about 24" give or take a little. They do start to thicken up a bit as they reach there 24" mark.

You need to re-size them first. Photobucket is probably the easiest way, with step by step instructions and free signup.

My pictures are on my web hosting sight which is run by dot5hosting, I store my pictures there and just show them here. I shrink them from like 2400x1500 pixels down to 800x600 pixels, which makes them show up here nicely and they also take up less space on my web hosting sight.
