My 28g Nano

right now my radion is set at 48%. i plan on increasing the light up to 70%. 3% every 2-3 days. i honestly do not know why my Ca is so low. :headwally: i am using aquavitro salinty salt. according to BRS and their 2 part recipe, my calc should be 450 by tomorrow.

What test kit did you use to test Ca? Funny that I thought I had the same situation when I first started using the API test kit, but later I found out that I didn't shake the solution enough between each drop.

Red sea! I thought it was my test kit at first but I tested 5 times same result. Just to play it safe I returned this kit and I'm getting a new one sent.

i think i might have cyano.. i posted a thread with some pictures maybe someone can help. i am not happy with my tunze. im going to try the aquamaxx again but i have to keep it on the side wall. i just have to figure out a way to plumb everything. without any modifications, the intake and drain sit in the chamber relatively close to each other. i am thinking about plumbing with pvc across the back wall to drain in the opposite side. however i have a feeling that it will look horrible.

That's probably going to be too quick of a bump in intensity, and it's really not going to buy you anything. I started at 25%, and ramped slowly (2-5% per week) depending on how things reacted in the tank. I'd say it took me about 6-mo to get to 70%, but everything looked and grew great in the mean time. Don't rush it.

If you notice bad PE or loss of color, you are going too fast. HTH
