My 2g Fluval Spec

Got Reef?
Just wanted to share some pictures and thoughts from the setup process of my Fluval Spec

First off Ill give a run down on the tank. Its a 2g Fluval Spec AIO. Tank size is 7.25" x 9.25 x 10". I removed the stock lighting, a flex arm led lamp(31 x .25w), and replaced it with a 12k Par38 lamp and added a R2 moonlight I had laying around. Filtration is a foam block with 2 sections cut out which are filled with rubble and Purigen. I do a half gallon water change each week and dose a couple drops of a 2 part every other day.

Tanks rather small so I dont have any fish. Its home to a pair of Sexy Shrimp, a small clean up crew, some corals and a Maxi Mini.

Tank looks awesome! But why are you dosing 2-part for softies? Nothing in there should be consuming Ca.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have a small monti frag down in the sand bed and I want to bring a few acro frags over from my larger SPS tank. Im using regular instant ocean for this tank and am trying get my Ca and Alk up a little higher before I bring them over. Also Im trying to get some more coraline growth.

On a tank that small doing a 1g water change once a week auto be plenty for ca, alk, mg, etc. Without any dosing even with cheap salt. Tank looks great though, thinking about setting one up at my work desk.

I'm just starting one of these up. yours looks great! how high up do you have your light? also, how do you keep your glass so clean with the rocks so close to the sides?
