my 2nd clam

picked up my 2nd clam today at a LFS. 2 inch Dersea which is sitting next to my 3 inch maxima I've had since October.

10 gallon. 96 watt power quad and a 32 watt smart lite.

Here are the two together. Seems as if the dersea is happy next to the max. Yes, a 10 Gallon. I have Xenia, 2 different Zooanthids, Green stars, red mushrooms, green stripe mushrroms, fuzzy mushrooms, green slimer acro, montipora, small yellow leather, pink ricordia and the 2 clams(dersea and maxima. I run no protien skimmer, just 2 aqua clear filters hanging on the back acting like refugiums.

Here are some pics I took a few weeks ago.

10 gallon. 96 watt power quad power compact and a 36 watt 50/50 power compact. Total 132 watt

Home made hood

no heater

no skimmer

1 gallon water change a week

no power heads

No lights over fuge's, they just get loose light from hood. there is no back to my hood, its open. 3 sided only

Thanks, This tank sits on my desk next to my monitor.

I am upgrading soon to a custom acrylic tank and 175W MH.

the tank will be made for clams.

The growth rate of the derasa under good conditions seems a bit much for a 10g? Got plans for a bigger tank in the next year or so? If not you could always ship him out my way..........
