Well its about that time...closed on my first house a few weeks ago so the construction begins :) I've been collecting parts in anticipation for the past few months and everything is almost complete. The tank itself is a 300G 3 sided Starphire glass. I decided to put it in between the master bed and the living room (with some sort of curtins of course).

Equipment already purchased:
300G 3 sided starphire (94x30x25
100G rubbermaid serves as refugium
100G old AGA tank will be return section
30ish gallon frag tank 36x18x8 with black silicone
3- Vortech MP40w for movement (still need 3 more)
wavebox (from old tank MIGHT me using)
Reeflo Orca 250 skimmer (put it on my 135g for kicks...wow!)
Geo 624 calcium reactor
Profilux controller with 6 way digital bar, 2 bar high current, 4 bar analog
2- Lumenbright SE pendents (still need 2)(2 from current tank)
Reeflo Blackfin 3600 return pump
Utility sink
sump pump
sump basin

Equipment needed:
3- Vortech MP40w's
2- Lumenbright SE pendents
Frag tank lighting
Ref lighting
500LBS sand
300LBS marco rock
60 2x4's
10- 24packs of budlight :3195:

Hoping to get my stand built by this weekend and the tank in place. The electrician will be here tomorrow to put in my 30 some outlets in the fishroom. Tomorrow night will be drywall night.... which is sitting in my garage, as well as my door for the fishroom that I bought tonight.

Can't wait to see this come together.

Oh, and I'm glad to hear that wallpaper is going...it's terrible! :)

Ahh men brother :D

It will be viewable from about 2 1/2 sides if that makes any sence...most of the tank will be in the livingroom so I thought it would be cool to see a corner and about half of the right side ( looking at the tank from the living room side, it will also be the starphire side).

got a few boxes from the guys in brown :)

On monday everything should be wired in the fish room! 3 dedicated breakers, bunch-o GFIC circuits, motion sensors when you walk into the room, pilot light switches..... Justin you are the man.

Stand has been started, I still need to put in supports and cross braces, this thing should hold up a house. I'm building it around 4x4's and boxing those in with 2x4's. I should have this completed by monday. Anyone wanna help move it in :) :) Its heavy!! **note the bribe on the back**

Any advice on leveling the tank? Also what does everyone think about foam under glass tanks? I've read people going both ways....

and finaly a few updates......

Nice,

Linda overkill on the beams, but looks good. Remember the main support needs to be on the end.

I am building one now for my 450

I uploaded starter photos today
