My 33 gallon cube. Nothing amazing.

I test for alk and it was at 7. should I test for cal and mag? obviously if I want to dose i should but do I even need to dose in my tank?

Great start and fine looking tank! Well done.

You should be testing for the big three, Ca, Alk & Mg. Once in a while NO3 & PO4 as well. Once your corals get more established and start to grow, they will consume more. Depends on how lazy you are and the consumption rate, but a doser is a good way to go. I think Bubble Magus have a fairly cheap doser that everyone seems to like.

I would secure that return so there is no chance of it coming out of the tank and keep a close eye on that overflow. They can be a bit tricky. Glass Holes make a good cheap overflow kit that can be retrofitted (carefully!). Also I think I see a peg up near your overflow. Remember that it may have some metal in it that could leak into your tank. Zip Ties are a good safe way to secure things if need be.

cheers

PS I love my starry blenny, very cool fish! Mine will eat just about anything including me when my hand is in the tank!

If your not testing for it, do not dose it.

Get yourself some quality test kits before you start dosing anything. Salifert, Elos, Hanna Checker, etc.

For all you know, you may not even need to dose (very likely), unless your running a heavily stocked tank and tend to usually do a WC like once every 10-14 days or more.

The bubble magus doser is about 280$ not cheap in my view. haha. Looking for something way cheaper then that. And yes I understand that iFisch thats what i just said in my last post and yeah I need to make a way to the aquarium shop soon and buy those kits.

Yeah I don't know. My lfs got some nice big colonys of these in (15-20 heads). I got this 7 head one for 40$. so not a bad price. I couldn't pass it up. I reaquascaped so i would have a place to put it.

Update. So I was not happy with my overflow box, so I got my tank drilled last friday and had two sides painted for a very good price. So here are the updated pics of the tank.

My leather is not looking the best because my hammer stung it a few days ago but its looking way better in a few days. Also the rock work, I'm not to sure if I like it. I kinda just threw this together because I needed to get stuff back in the tank.

Little update. Nothing really new. Just a pair of normal clowns and fragging coral.
Also dealing with some flatworms. Dont want to use flatworm exit either. so any tips on how to get them out would be appreciated. At this point they dont seem to be hurting anything. i suck some out with a pump every water change.
