My 40g tank with 20g sump, let me know what u think, advice welcome.

So just wanted to share my new and first bare bottom tank along with first tank with sump. I built everything from scratch including drilling the tank and making the stand.

Parameters are
Salinity-1.025
alk-8.5 (dose small amount throughout day)
Cal-400-425. Trying to raise it but doesn't seem to wanna, no matter how much i dose.
temp-79
mag-1350

equipment
2 mp10
vertex in180
tek light 6 bulb t5-miss my MH that i had on my old 75g. but hopefully i can find a good bulb combo i like. Right now its too white for me. I have on order right now 3 ati blue plus, ati coral plus, and ati purple, that should hopefully give methe blue look i am looking for.
reefkeeper light-which controls everything
2 brs dosers, dosing calcium chloride and sodium bicarb, both bulk from brs.

i change 5 gallons about every week or two.

here some pics let me know what u think

My only question is that i am having a hard time getting these corals now to grow, they are about 2 months old and some of them besides putting down a base havent grown at all. and thier colors rnt anything to write home about. Any Suggestions?. I feed reef chili, reef booster , and just ordered red sea a+b. I also feed once a day the lps along with fish a mix of mysis, brine, shrimp, cyclopeeze. A decent amount. and my lights are about 8 -9 inches off water. I have 0 phos and 0 nitrate so i am thinking it might be low nutrients. so i am upping the feeding but i dont wanna feed too much. i have almost 0 algea and my glass on needs to be cleaned of a light film of algea once every two weeks.

I think time will make all the difference. Just try to keep things stable, and I believe they'll take off. Might be light acclimation from MH to T5. If the tissue looks healthy and no recession, I'd just wait. Things look good!

Yea I m hoping its just because its a new tank. I was thinking it could be alk swings since I don't have a pny buffer sand like I was used to but I dose every hour and every time I test its between 8-8.5. A little but nothing I believe to worry about?
