+1 on the new series of videos. im anxiously awaiting them each and every time. its great to see hobbyists enjoying the thing they do to the fullest and the commitment and vibe that is transported through the forum and your videos. thats what this hobby is all about. its funny to see the tech geek coming through sometimes :-) haha. keep up the great work you do. greets from austria.

Nice update.

Is it me or do you have a knack for picking out fish that love to photo bomb you. In your large tank there is what appears to be your sunburst anthias hanging near your left shoulder and in the fuge the pipe fish is doing the same thing.

I'm guessing the video was earlier before you worked over the acrylic / tank and lost the cow fish? I mean removed the coralline algae.

LOL.. Those fish can't stay out of the lime light! They follow me around like puppy dogs. That is a Borbonius Anthias but they look very similar from a distance.. I love that little guy! I always wanted one and I picked him up on my birthday last year. That pipe fish is a very curious one but he also knows who feeds it and comes out every time I'm near that tank. I'm sure he was hoping for a handout.

Yeah, they know there is no food in a closed aquarium so they depend on you, their master. When they see you, they expect food. They do get confused, "What's up? No food this time? Hey, I make you enjoy watching me.". LOL

I figure I would mention this here. I've officially be retained by Royal Exclusiv to manage the support and service for Royal Exclusiv USA. As a long time user of their products, I've become intimately familiar with their stuff and have helped countless forum members over the years with troubleshooting and setup of the Bubble King skimmers. I have been given the official title of "Director Customer Support Royal Exclusiv USA"..

Frankly, I am honored that the team in Germany recognized my contributions here and efforts to help those in need. My goal is to get the Royal Exclusiv support and service in the US to be on par with companies like Kessil, Tunze and Ecotech who have been revered as having the best service and support in the industry. This isn't a full time gig for me as I already have a full time job with my computer manufacturing business but I will devote what ever time is needed to help Bubble King and Royal Exclusiv users here in North America. I will also be attending the US based trade shows that Royal Exclusiv participates in. Next Thursday I am flying out to Florida to meet with the RE US team, tour the facility there and lay the groundwork for what will be a transformation of the US service and support. I am also working on getting them to sponsor Reef Central and setup a Royal Exclusiv forum here at RC..

Here is there announcement on the Royal Exclusiv webpage:
http://royalexclusiv.com/

And their Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Royal-Exclusiv-pumps-skimmers/127809333905811?fref=ts

As a side note to that, I have a new Royal Exclusiv RD3 Speedy 230 watt pump that is arriving next week and will likely be using that as my closed loop pump unless I decide to use it as my return pump. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on that beast!

That's really cool, they have seen what I have these last few year's....you are always ready to help those in need with honest, good advice while sharing information about quality equipment and reef keeping process:) Customer Service is so important to business success we are lucky in our hobby to have company's like Marine Depot, Reeflo, AquaticLife, Premium Aquatics, Tunze USA, and many other's that have set the BAR high. Good Luck.....You got this!

Congrats Scott on the position and thank you for your assistance in my build.

Thanks a bunch guys!! While this won't be without it's challenges, I definitely feel up for the task. Especially given my intimate knowledge of their products coupled with almost 3 decades experience in servicing high end clients in the computer industry. I've received a number of awards from entities like the US NAVY and Lockheed Martin for excellent support and my plan is to impart that knowledge and experience into Royal Exclusiv US culture. As long as I am given the lattitude I need to accomplish that goal, I will have Royal Exclusiv's US service and support elevated to the ranks of the best in the industry in no time.

I am really excited to have a role with this company. I've been in this hobby for over 27 years now. I've used a lot of equipment from a lot of different manufacturers over the years. To that end, I've always felt that Royal Exclusiv was one of the best manufacturers in the industry when it comes to quality and innovation. Especially after owning my own Royal Exclusiv equipment in recent years. I don't just say there because of this new relationship either. There aren't many companies that build to the quality standards that they do and I truly believe that.

As such, this is truly an honor for me to be associated with them and I'm really looking forward to playing a role in the US operations. I know I can have a great impact not only on the service and support side but also the sales side. Providing superior support and service has a trickle down effect. Many people are willing to spend more on a quality piece of equipment. Especially if the service and support matches or exceeds the quality. I don't think the quality can be beaten but I know service and support and that is certainly something that can always be improved upon regardless of the organization. As such, there is work to be done and I am up for the challenge. With a bit of leway and enough rope to accomplish my goals, I will see to it that Royal Exclusiv US sets a precedence for great sevice and support.

The other thing I know well is web marketing. In addition to my computer business, I owned an online and walkin RC hobby store. One thing I leaned is that forums are powerful tools in building a business but they can also be the death of you. A little poor service experience can quickly ruin the reputation of a company because of the power of the internet. With that in mind, excellent service and support are critical to not only maintaining business but also growing it. My goal is to have them become a Reef Central sponsor and setup a forum here. It will help me insure that customers are answered 7 days a week while also monitoring feedback. It will also help promote the brandname via the associated banner ads. As such, with a forum as big as RC which happens to be one of the largest online forums of any type on the internet, sponsoring Reef Central will prove to be a valuable tool in not only growing their business but also spreading the gospel about the new service and support culture at Royal Exclusiv.

Since your upgrade have you changed your automated water change schedule or are you still at 5 gal a day?

Still at 5 gallons a day. No real reason to change that. Every once in a blue moon, I kick off a larger water change. Last weekend I set a 40 gallon water change in motion which took a couple hours with my Renew. I just did it for peace of mind and that was the first "larger" water change I have done in a few or more months too. I've got an awful lot of live rock in my system for a very healthy and mature bacterial bed. Between my skimmer, the live rock, the the deep sand bed and mass of chaeto in the refugium below the tank and all the soft corals and stuff in the display fuge, nutrients gets used up really well and nitrates are never detectable and my water quality is always great regardless of how much I feed. As such, my 150 or so gallons a month in auto water changes are plenty sufficient to keep my 650'ish gallon system really healthy and thriving.

I see on Jim's youtube that you got another cowfish. :)

LOL.. That was the last cow in the video.. That was shot months back but he was backed up re-releasing old videos with new audio because the company he licensed his original music tracks was bought out by Warner Bros which impacted the licneses on many of his previous videos.

I'm in Ft Myers Florida right now and spend most of the day at Royal Exclusiv USA. I'm very impressed as it became quite apparent that they are very serious about the US market. They are building up a serious inventory. Not only that but they are in the process of becoming an RC sponsor and getting a dedicated forum here at RC.

I took photos of some of the fish tank candy in their warehouse but forgot to take pictures of their showroom which was a reef aquarists wet dream in terms of pumps and skimmers on display.

Here are some pictures from today..
Matthias and myself next to a Delux 650 skimmer. A serious beast.
