The tank is plugging along. Added a CA reactor, more fish and corals. Will be switching to AI LED's in the next few weeks. I will try to get some updated photos posted in the next week or so before the LED's go on. Thanks

The tank has had a string of bad luck. I have taken a few 3-4 week trips out of town that were hard on the tank. The sump cracked as well as some other major leaks but all were in the shed so no big deal. The sump has been replaced and all leaks fixed. Lost the majority of my coral and about half my fish. Been doing 200g water changers for 2 months and things are starting to calm down. Gonna give it a few weeks to start to look better or I may reboot the system or take a break. Got a lot of things on my plate right now and the tank is not a priority.

How did the solar tubes ever come out? I saw a post earlier saying you weren't using them. I'm thinking about doing that to my house in the near future in So AZ.

The solar tubes work good in the summer and bad in the winter but that is due to the location of installation. My roof is about 16' tall so they have a long run and they are faced north. In the summer when the sun is up higher they bring in a ton of light, the winter not so much. If you were to use them I would recommend that you face them south and have a short of run as possible.

Quick ( actually long) questions: You appear to be quite a master at coraline algae propagation. What's your secret? And since you're so good at it, maybe you could offer me some advice: I've been reefing for years but have always suffered from slow coraline propagation despite many different reef setups and good chemistry. Now I'm starting a 60g cube. If it was yours, would you dose two part (like ive done with dosing pumps for years) or would you use a Ca reactor? Also do you think using too much GFO can stunt coraline?

Not sure why I have that good of coraline growth. Maybe it likes the spectrum of the solartubes??? Most of my tanks in the past have not had it grow as well and I usually ran 14-20K halides. I have always used 2 part. Never tried a CA reactor. No idea on the GFO question.

this picture is incredible, I love how the corals are growing on top of each other, that's the largest Spongodes I've ever seen!
