My 55g SPS

I figure I'll start my build thread here since this will be an SPS tank. Recently I bought a new office and will be moving out of my old office as soon as renovations are done by the end of this month. With a new office at my disposal I decided it's time for a rebuild on my 55g reef savvy.

The 55g is the perfect size for my office due to maintenance.

One of the things I hated the most with the current set up is the sump being so cramped underneath my cabinet. I am somewhat OCD and thoroughly enjoy cleaning my tank but I can never get to the sump without lugging something out. With my new build, I will be putting the current tank and cabinet in the lounge area while it will be plumbed behind the counter where the receptionist is. By doing so I won't be restricted by any type of filtration system and will have plenty of space to work with during my lunch break.

With that being said here's my tank info. I already owned everything with exception of the sump which should be delivered to me before this month is over. (Jeff is currently building it)

- Lifereef 20g Refugium

-Ecotech Radion Gen3 Pro w/RMS hanging system
-1/10hp chiller
-AQUA UV(I haven't decided if I want to install this yet. I will plumb it though for future)
-GEO612 calcium reactor with carbondoser electronic regulator (I am looking for a Cole Parmer MasterFlex Peristaltic pump easy load digital standard drive 7523-70 for the effluent to finish my set up)
*I also have my BRS 1.1ml dosers for two parts
-APEX JR
- wxm
- automated food dispenser
- PM1
- B.O.B.
- eb4

I will post pictures when the office is ready. I am very excited about this build. My previous build wasn't documented because I was too lazy but this time will be done right. Though I had lots of success with SPS, there's always room for more knowledge. Thank you for reading and also thank you for the wonderful people at RC for answering my mundane questions over the years.

update:

My GEO 612 arrived in great shape. Thanks to advices from tkeracer619, I purchased the masterflex 900-1555 pump and 900-1554 digital driver for the effluent line on the calcium reactor. I also purchased a Cole-Parmer Masterflex Pump Drive 7540-20 20rpm for my new auto top off. I currently have the tunze but this pump will last my lifetime.

Can't wait to see this build progress. Where do you plan on getting most of your SPS pieces? There is not a whole lot of choices in this area unless you go down to Orlando. How do you like the reef savvy tank? I was the lucky winner of the St Judes/Reef Savvy Thanksgiving Dream Tank Giveaway. I should be getting my 100 gallon reef savvy very tank soon!

I have a 55 gallon SPS tank too and know all about the sump limitations. I'm curious about the sump area. Is it under a desk?

Echopiece. You are one lucky person my friend. That's a very nice tank. I have a lot of sps already in my tank. I will most likely make a large order with mr cobbs himself through reef central. His sps selections are to die for.

Kevin e. My tank will be in the lounge. There's a half wall that divides the receptionist area. I will be plumbing my sump under her desk area. I will be building a rectangle box for the sump and extras. Renovations is taking a tad longer but I hope it will be done by end of this month.

Thank you Sean. The reactor is flawless.

Just made an order from copps on his sps collection. Honestly I'm not into brand name sps but his collection is one of the most unique I've ever seen. They will be shipped end of March. I will try to get the tank moved first week of March.

Tyree LE Bali Tricolor Acro
Bright Pink Hyacinthus Table
Copps’ Down Under Rainbow Undata
Copps’ Bright Green Efflo
Copps' King Tut
Copps’ 24 karat milli
Copps’ Orange Mary Monti
Copps’ Calacali Acro

I just bought a red Hyacinthus and green efflo. They will be show pieces. You are going to love them.

Just got my tracking for my lifereef sump. Office still not completed. Looking around 10 more days not including decoration. This rebuild is taken longer than expected.

My lifereef sump set up came in. It's the LF-150 with external SVS3-24 skimmer and 17 gallon refugium

Hopefully the office finishes up earlier so I can set this beast up.

Sorry for the lack of update. My new office ran into a few issues during renovations and I'm currently trying to bring things up to code accordingly. I got the sump to where it's going to be. The tank hasn't been moved yet until the electrician is done with the office
