Just now starting up my first tank and figured I'd start a build thread to see what everyone thinks. ^^

Tank - Marineland 60 Gallon 24x24x24 Cube
Sump - Aqueon 40 Gallon Breeder
Return pump - Sicce 5.0
Reactor - PhosBan 150 w/ 155gph pump
Skimmer - ASM G3
Lighting - Maxspect Mazarra P-Series
A.T.O - Toms Aqua Lifter AW-20 and Eshopps Float Valve

Still waiting on the skimmer should be arriving tomorrow, lights will be coming this weeks as well I hope. And still need to buy the Eshopps Float valve.

Post is going to be somewhat bombed to get the prior pics all uploaded to where I'll be "current". ^^

First photo used a CD stack to just show the size of the space open from the rock to glass. Aquascaping after dipping the rock in muriatic acid.

Lookin good so far.

Why did you build the stand so big, and is the tank supported anywhere other than the corners?

Peace
EC

Thanks EC ^^

No the tank is only supported in the corners and well on why the stand is larger is due to the fact of are old faithful leader saying how to build the "border" around the main supports. I had another thought in mind, but was unsure on if I was right and rather than doing it and being wrong I asked for advice and that is what was given to me.

Sorry dude.:(

Well, it's full of water and seems to be working, so I guess all is well. It's a small tank so hopefully, this won't become an issue.

When you build the stand for your upgrade,:lmao: make sure the "border" is directly under the vertical glass of the tank.

Yea I wanted it to be that way.. But what can you do ya know? I'm definitely not going to go back and redo it now LOL. Just got to live with it and hope all is well. ^^

Just checked it again this morning, still the same @ 1 or so. But again 0 ammonia. So just playing the waiting game. Surprised it hasn't started dropping yet. But in no hurry as I'm still waiting on lights. LOL

:lolspin::lolspin::lolspin: "old faithful leader" :lolspin::lolspin::lolspin:

Overall other than that, it looks good man! :) Great job so far, keep it up and keep the patience! ;)

If I were you, I'd go back and redo it. It may never be an issue, but without support along the front and back, that tank could let go. It's entirely up to you, but 55 gallons of water on the floor and 55 gallons worth of fish/inverts dead is motivation enough for me.

Looking great man! Have more pictures to post but waiting to see if I get moved or if I should just "redo" the thread first.

Was talking to a LFS about running a bio pellet setup on my tank ans curious to hear opinions on what people think of them and how well they work.
