my 6045 stopped now what

hey i know you guys are great at help with your product, i have 2 6045 unmodded units both are about the same age, one works great, the other i noticed today is not running, is there a trick to getting it to run? the track record on these guys speaks for itself, its a great unit, please help me figure out the problem.

Have you taken it apart to clean it? Is the shaft broken or is it free and fall out?

dont know how to do that, how does one go about doing that?

Take off the front cover and remove the impeller. See if the shaft is still firmly seated, it should not come out.

thank you for you help, it now runs again, BUT the impeller is very sensitive to how far it is in, there is about a 1/4 max shaft play and if it is not in the proper position it will not spin, is there an explanation for that? like i said it is running fine now though

is there a washer behind the impeller?

If the shaft comes out the pump is broken and should be sent in. If the drive unit has a lot of play on the shaft likely the disk or drive unit is worn out.
