my 6045 won't run

I've had it about 3 months maybe. About a month ago I soaked it in vinegar solution for routine cleaning. Put it back into ops. About 3 weeks ago I noticed it wasn't running anymore. We soaked it in vinegar again (after noticing the motor was at least attempting to run). The next morning it worked again, so I put it back into the tank. Today, I noticed it wasn't running again.

I can feel it vibrating like it WANTS to run but can't. If I plug it in outside of water it will run, but if I put it under water it stops, it's like the water resistance is too much for the faint rotation it gets going.

Any idea what might be wrong? Are there more parts I am supposed to be able to take apart and clean specifically?

Your motor needs replaced, the pin should not come out. Send it with your contact info and return address inside to the address below and Roger will replace it.

Howdy, I'm having the same problem. I don't think the pin comes out of mine, but I've been pretty kid-gloves with it. At first I thought maybe there was sand in it, as it made some kinda clicky noises. I cleaned it out and it spun for a few hours, but eventually it just stopped spinning all together.

Is there an RMA process? Or do I just send it in?

Thanks!

Roger will likely have you send it in, but maybe wait till Monday to see if he has you check something. The is no RMA number just if you do make sure to put your contact info and address inside the box.

Well maybe Tuesday then :)

perverseosmosis - is there a washer (if so which type or color) behind the impeller?

Send the pumps in, I am leaving for MACNA in Atlanta in about an hour but Rodney will doing repairs for the next week. I will likely not be back on RC for a few days, with Gustav coming in I have had to route well North of the most direct drive and so it will take a few days to get from Austin to Atlanta.

Doh. I took it out of the tank to check what washer color I have (silver) and realized the pin is in fact stuck in the impeller and not the drive unit.

I actually have two of these, the first was sent from Marine Depot with a broken hosing and no impeller, so they sent this one as a replacement and let me keep the other. Can I send this one in without the impeller so I don't completely drop the flow of my tank while this one is replaced?

Thanks.

That will be fine. Please send to
