Just wanted to say how much I enjoy my twin 6080's on my 180g. freshwater tank. I have them at either end about 4" down like you suggested and both are pointed toward the middle of the tank. The magnets are very cool. They sweep my sand really well moving the fish wastes toward my Eheims at either end of the tank. My Moba fronts like the current, but were a little skittish at first.
I have them on an auto timer and run them only 4 times daily for about 15 minutes each (early morning, noon, around 5pm and at midnight). I could probably run them more, but they serve their purpose well.
