Hi adham,
Love your aquascaping! How long did it take you to get it that way? As far as adding the corals before the fish, I think the Captn. typed it out of order,I think you should wait about 6 months before adding corals.

It goes by the bioload that is created and the cycling of bacteria needed
clean up crew first--very little bioload

lps corals that are hardy-- and don't add to much to the bioload of the system either

then fish which are the biggest increase on the bioload of the system

thanks,
It took about a couple hours to get the look I wanted and then some adjusting here and there....lol I keep adjusting/changing little things every hour.
It was difficult because as soon as I got the rock, It was already late so I dumped it all in the tank just to get it in the water. Then I began to aquascape the next morning while everything was in it.

I came across these things on my rock that look like little flowers.
Can someone ID please.

Dude, turn off your flash, increase your ISO, and shoot new pics. You can also shoot in "A" mode if your camera has it. Then you will allow enough light to the picture, but not get the washed out look from the flash. Rae

get the vinegar ready and good luck........I've spent several days trying to kill all of mine. looks like aiptasia anemones to me. but i'm new at this so wait for a more experienced opinion.

No, I don't think it's aiptasia because I looked it up and it doesn't look like what I have. The ones in my tank have a light green center. I'll try another pic even though my camera skills aren't the greatest.

I remember the guy who sold me the live rock mentioned that there were still some polyps on one rock. They look more greenish in real life, maybe they could be green star polyps?

OK well those polyps are easy to care for.....they are GSP's.....They will grow quickly.....will need to be pruned every so often.....

I just tested my water and I'm showing zero for my ammonia and nitrite. I'm showing about 5-10 ppm for my nitrates. Does this mean that the tank is already cycled? I'm still going to wait a couple more days to make sure but just wanted to post my test results.

tank is cycled.....do a water change and you should be goo to go.....
So I guess there was minimum die off because the rock has been in my tank for only 3 days. How much water do I take out when changing it?
